Converting mescaline acetate/alcohol extractions to mescaline hcl

If someone had a decent quantity of mescaline acetate from following lron's food-safe extraction tek, as well as a decent amount of goo from alcohol extractions, but wanted to create a more pure product, would it be a simple operation to create mescaline hcl from these?

The alcohol extractions were done with 99.9% isopropyl alcohol, but the remaining goo never seems to dry completely and it would be much nicer to be able to measure exact doses. The acetate seems variable/dirty as different batches are dark brown and some are very light brown.

Would it be possible to just mix it all with 10% hydrochloric acid, let it evaporate and then wash a couple times with acetone? Or would one need to basify it, put it in a solvent, and then extract with acid all over again? Can this process even be done on the goo that's left over from an alcohol extraction?

Hi there the mescaline acetate can be converted simply by adding dissolving in Hcl. And after evap, cleaned with IPA and acetone just like described in your linked thread. I did it several times with success.

About the alcohol extraction --> conversion to Hcl --> cleanup. I read somewhere on this forum long ago that someone tried it out but there was to much fats and gunk in it to properly clean it.

I think it is possible to if the gunk is more filtered. I recently made a thread about a water extraction with the use of bubble bags. The idea of this is to have a nice starting material for the conversion to Hcl and latter cleanup.
The big question is: what salt is mescaline in its natural form. Could it be a stronger salt than Hcl.

Maybe we are asking something too stupid to reply on I got the bags but didn't find time to try it out. It could mean that a non-polar solvent free pure mescaline extraction would be possible.
