Cyb's salt tek - questions

Hi peeps

I'm reading up on Cyb's salt tek (Cybs' Hybrid ATB 'Salt' Tek - DMT-Nexus Wiki) at the moment and have a couple of questions:

First of all, the heating and cooling cycle, is that done by heating the water bath to near boiling or would it need to go to a cooler temperature or does it not really matter?
Secondly, I'm guessing the bottle should be a glass bottle rather than plastic - this might seem rather trivial but does anyone have any suggestions to get a wide neck litre bottle from in the UK, I can't find one for toffee that is wide enough to fit a baster.
