Not sure how many metal heads are on here but this is a song inspired by one of the band member's dmt experiences apparently. It sounds like a bad one but hey, its death metal.

Awesome! Haven't heard many metal songs about psychedelics.

I used to be a die hard metal head but I've strayed away to mainly elecronic music.
Although I enjoy all kinds of music, death metal and electronic remain my favorites.
Glad to see this evolution of entheo-metal haha!
 
Metal hasn’t been my thing in many years (had a brief interest in it at 10 yrs old), but I still appreciate it. It has a lot of power.

I wasn’t so into the first verse (style-wise, not so sure about the talking), but when it kicks in it’s great. Lyrics are spot on for a very nasty, heavy, soul-destroying journey (from my perspective anyway). Excellent.
 
LOL I love the mixed responses I get from this kind of music. Glad some of you could enjoy it. I did a little research into this song and even talked to the lead singer about it but they really don't like giving out info on it. I wonder if he really did have a bad trip or if the secrecy is for more obvious reasons...
 
Oh and archaic_architect - I wouldn't doubt that you already had but you should check out Nevermore - very psychedelic metal. The song "Seven Tongues of God" is all about LSD. "The seven tongues of god are in my mind, they speak to me in ancient DNA design".

lol this whole thread and the music makes me think of some people I used to hang out with and trip with. They took all kinds of weird psychedelics, half of which I had never even heard of at the time. They were cool though, and did lots of acid and played death metal.
 
Haha that's awesome. I think a lot of people think metal is all about hate but I feel its just more about energy in general. There has been a few times where I started having a really bad trip on either lsd or mushrooms and rocking out to death metal with my headphones totally saved me. Of course any music you love could save you at that point but I just don't associate it with anger.
 
Yeah, got to admit this sort of thing isn’t something I would generally choose to listen to (if I had to pin it down it would be electro, disco, detroit techno and old school hip hop for me generally – I like a lot of other things but that is what I collect and party to). I do, as I say, appreciate the raw power and energy in music and that is something that a lot of types of metal have in buckets (same with punk, which I am quite impartial to at times). I would happily throw myself around like a crazy thing to something like this at the right time or if they were playing live in front of me.

The only death metal band I really follow and listen to now is Nile.

I've had the courage to take a few Salvia trips with Nile playing in the background. They weren't horrific really, but at the time I was used to listening to death metal everyday. For someone who isn't a big fan of it, I could see how that might make for a torturous experience :D
 
nice thread guys, I am also a fan of certain types of metal music, I don't really listen to them while smoking DMT, but I have before and have had some my most intense experiences listening to metal music and smoking DMT, especially after taking a dissociative.

Yep, that's exactly the type of death metal I listen to nowadays :) I have all the albums from Born of Osiris and Veil of Maya. I'm just not really hardcore into death metal as much as I used to be. I used to listen to nothing but. I've been listening to a lot of metalcore and post-hardcore, actually really enjoying the clean vocals.

I, The Breather are pretty good. Thanks for suggesting them, I hadn't heard them before. ;)

And as for Salvia + music, it can really bring about some interesting experiences. I played Nile's "To Dream of Ur" once in the background and it was an amazing experience. Also, I've played a lot of classical music in the background and had some great success with that. At a certain point (in terms of dosage) the music becomes really unnecessary, but for sub-breakthrough doses it can be quite interesting.
 
Excellent posts! Nile is one of the best death metal bands of all time.
