I am trying to read up on as many different aspects of the extraction process as possible, and my current endeavor is learning about defatting. I've seen it mentioned in quite a few threads, but not where it is thoroughly discussed. I was wondering if anyone knew the proper threads and sections to read through regarding defatting, as well as salting, which I think I understand pretty well, but it never hurts to learn more, which is much easier when one has the proper materials to read through.

defatting is basically just doing a pull with a non-polar solvent while the material is still acidified (as the alkaloids are polar when acidified, water soluble, not NPS soluble, so it pulls all the soluble contaminants with none of the goodies)

salting is basically adding an acid to your solvent to salt the DMT, then using water or something similar to pull the water-soluble DMT out of the solvent (Which the salts are no longer soluble in)
