Hey everyone, happy new year :) I wanted to make a post about changa. I hope this helps/gives some insight, especially to folks newer to changa. First off, I am NOT an expert in changa. I just discovered the stuff recently myself. I have been using it a lot and am thoroughly enjoying. It's incredible. Because I discovered it recently, I was in the phase of educating myself and finding info, reading articles and forums on the nexus etc. Messaging people. I would like to compile and share some things I learned in detail here. I did notice that a lot of the explanations of how to make it seemed to lack certain details, or were slightly ambiguous about certain things.

Changa Is a blend of herbs, dmt and an MAOI. This is of course important, and MAOIs especially and have health consequences, which we will talk about later. I am going to lay out my recipe that I really like right now. I smoked changa for 5 hours straight on NYE. It was very very incredible. I am blessed to have been treated very well by it and to have a myriad of incredible experiences, visions, insight and creative expression last night. I'm happy to share that in a comment or different post if people wish.

Here is my recipe, I made this batch on the winter solstice ❄️: 500mg of extracted acrb spice, 250mg of extracted syian rue 98% harmaline, These are infused into the herb mix of: 400mg mullein, 200mg calea, 100mg passion flower, After it is done and dried out, add blue lotus and cornflower petals for color and beauty :)

Now, I'd like to add some detail to the actual process. I gather all the equipment, clean surface, etc. I get some water boiling in a small pot (keep IPA far away from this of course). The water level needs to be about 1/2" Lower than the opening of the jar you will put the iPa, deems and maoi into. I learned this here on the nexus, but if you infuse your IPA at least a week before with flavorful herbs, it makes the whole mix smell and taste amazing! I put a small Mason jar (baby food ish size) full about 1/4 full of lavender, spearmint and lemon balm, then poured ipa over it until it was mostly full. Keep in dark cool area and stir it about once a day or so.

Back to where we were, take this infused IPA (99% is ideal, should be green colored after infusing), strain it through cheese cloth into another container, and take approx 15-20ml, and put it into your small Mason jar in the boiling/hot water, with the heat/flame off. We just want the alcohol to get warm. Measure your spice and harmaline/harmala out and put them both into the jar with the warm ipa. The harmaline might not fully dissolve; that's OK we will still get it to transfer and absorb to the leaf mix.

Measure out your herb blend and put this into another small Mason jar or small Pyrex about 3-4" in diameter. Now take your jar with the warm alcohol, spice and harmaline and while mildly swirling it, pour it evenly over the herb mix. Take the herb mix and mildly swirl it as well, and allow the alcohol to touch and cover all the herbs, without letting it run up the sides of the dish. Now take a fan on relatively low speed and let it run over the dish for 3 hours or so. By that time most if not all the alcohol will be basically gone, but it's a good idea to stir it, move the leaves around, and leave it open in your house etc for another several hours if not more at that point. You can also "cure" it by leaving it open for a few hrs, then close it, and repeat for a day or two. That's all there is to it! It will be ready when there is ZERO smell of IPA anymore. When done, it should smell wonderful like a garden or bouquet of flowers.

Save your jar that the IPA and spice/harmala was in and don't wash it! You can reuse this for future batches and anything left behind will be added to the next mix.

I was given advice to start easy with the MAOI. The first batch I did was 200mg of haramline. This was great advice. Those maoi can be intense and add another element. Please consider taking it easy with this. I almost threw up the other night after 5 hrs of changa on an empty stomach. Definitely best to take it easy with that stuff and work your way up. Also please educate yourself on the health risks of MAOIs. Plenty of that info on here and even google. I smoke my changa out of a small bong/bubbler and it works great. I have been very much enjoying it. I have vaped freebase dmt for years, probably upwards of 250-300 times by now. But I really dig the changa and this will probably be how I do it from now on. If you read this far, thank you, and please feel free to chime in or share what you wish. Attached is a pretty pic of my latest batch! Peace

Heya! When I say 5 hours, I mean I was continuously smoking changa that night for 5 hours straight. I probably smoked idk 10 or more times that night. And it was wild ha. A large myriad of experiences. It was amazing. Few big hits/deep experiences, some lighter ones. Was making some art while on it. It was awesome :)

It's funny you shared this as I was thinking of doing something similar about my own process and ideals behind all things changa. If I do, I will definitely be adding this amongst the list of resources that I thought to add to it. Great job. Great work. Great contribution.

One love

Bit of a changa vibe going on here of late, all told! @Madhattress :)

I only have a vaporizer I can only smoke for about an hour before my throat gets hoarse. My experiences on long sessions are vivid and visual the first peak then they seem to get more high dose Psilo feeling and less Spice like. is it similar with your Changa?

Thank you voidmatrix! I owe some thanks to you as well for helping me with some of my questions via DM. Cheers friend

Not particularly. The DMT treats me the same essentially the whole time, although of course each experience is different and something else is shown/felt/experienced. I never just smoke once in a session. Its almost always between 3 and 10 times or so nowadays, when I do a ceremony.

Thanks for a nice guide on changa!
Can you share a bit about such a long experience?
In my changa days I only smoked 1–2 times and that was it.
What you are doing is more akin to an oral ceremony timewise.
I'm wondering how it differs for you. Do you preload with harmalas beforehand too, maybe?

Yo! if you read my above comment, it wasn't a continuous 5 hr experience. I smoked probably 10 times or so in the span of that 5 hrs. I had a large variety of amazing experiences, some eyes opened, some eyes closed. Witnessing beautiful, bizarre amazing entities like I usually do. Practicing and working on singing/chanting/throat singing while on it. Working on art for the first time while on it. Which was sick haha. It's hard to fully describe how my ceremony nights go because there is a lot to it and I experience and see and feel so many things, but they are truly special to me. Over the last 4 months? maybe I have been feeling a serious pull to DMT and have been using it a looot. It has been wonderful. I have been really deepening my relationship with the spiritual realm and intelligences. I feel quite blessed

Okay, if I got you right, it's similar to a 10 changa ceremonies in a span of 5h.
Like a playlist of 10 similar songs with some overlaps and not one long 5h music piece.
Just trying to see how it differs from the oral route. Any harmalas beforehand?
Singing is an awesome activity if one finds his bearings in the experience.
Thanks for sharing.

I'll start sharing my art! Thank you. So I noticed you are a mod, Voidmatrix is and obviously participates a lot. I have a kinda weird question. [>SNIP<]

No commercial-scaled extractions and reckless “spreading”

The Nexus is not a place for commercial operations and we do not want to support drug dealers; we believe in using these substances for personal use.

If and when sharing these substances, we believe that it has to be done without money or other payments involved, with a careful approach and care when facilitating the introduction and/or experience of others.

It is imperative to take care that the person ingesting has no contraindicating medical/psychological history, takes it in a proper set and setting, and correct dosage/method of ingestion. This cannot be done if the substances are spread on a large scale. We do not want to "turn on the world", those who are ready will seek it. Indiscriminate spreading of psychedelics can lead to potential serious damage to people and is a big legal liability. Big extractions (and the preparations leading to it and gathering of materials) can attract the attention of the Law.

Spreading of the message of psychedelics itself through superficial YouTube videos showing use or extractions can also cause a lot of damage to the community (as happened with salvia) and is frowned upon.

Yeah, I found this guys music lately I've been OBSESSED with called Larimar Sound Alchemy. It is perfect for these DMT ceremonies, and it is basically continuous music. So i don't have to keep starting new songs basically. I hit the changa, have my experience, come down, process etc, drink some more water/tea, and when I feel like it, go again. No harmalas beforehand, just the ones in my changa of course. Yeah I have gotten a lot better at being able to handle the intensity, so I have found I can sing and create art while on the stuff, as long as I don't get toooo big a hit :)

That definitely makes sense and I definitely agree with a lot of that. Thank you for sharing that perspective. [MOD: >SNIP<] But again, thank you for your perspective and it will be heavily considered.

It's not only a perspective, it's a condition of participation on the forum. We will be tidying this up, because also:

No discussion on selling, buying, sourcing, acquiring, pricing, trading, receiving, distributing, mentioning pending deliveries or smuggling of drugs

This includes all isolated psychedelic compounds and RCs (Research Chemicals), whether they are legal or not. The only goods allowed to be discussed are legal live plants, legal viable seeds (both in the Sustainable plant and seed suppliers subforum) and legal/unwatched chemical supplies. See Street Value of DMT (AND WHY YOU SHOULDN'T EVER SELL DMT AND OTHER PSYCHEDELICS) for good reasons why we don't allow this.

Also please read this thread: Bye bye MHRB sourcing talk, we will remember you
Still Federally illegal, loose lips sink ships.
