Hey everyone, happy new year
I wanted to make a post about changa. I hope this helps/gives some insight, especially to folks newer to changa. First off, I am NOT an expert in changa. I just discovered the stuff recently myself. I have been using it a lot and am thoroughly enjoying. It's incredible. Because I discovered it recently, I was in the phase of educating myself and finding info, reading articles and forums on the nexus etc. Messaging people. I would like to compile and share some things I learned in detail here. I did notice that a lot of the explanations of how to make it seemed to lack certain details, or were slightly ambiguous about certain things.
Changa Is a blend of herbs, dmt and an MAOI. This is of course important, and MAOIs especially and have health consequences, which we will talk about later. I am going to lay out my recipe that I really like right now. I smoked changa for 5 hours straight on NYE. It was very very incredible. I am blessed to have been treated very well by it and to have a myriad of incredible experiences, visions, insight and creative expression last night. I'm happy to share that in a comment or different post if people wish.
Here is my recipe, I made this batch on the winter solstice
: 500mg of extracted acrb spice, 250mg of extracted syian rue 98% harmaline, These are infused into the herb mix of: 400mg mullein, 200mg calea, 100mg passion flower, After it is done and dried out, add blue lotus and cornflower petals for color and beauty
Now, I'd like to add some detail to the actual process. I gather all the equipment, clean surface, etc. I get some water boiling in a small pot (keep IPA far away from this of course). The water level needs to be about 1/2" Lower than the opening of the jar you will put the iPa, deems and maoi into. I learned this here on the nexus, but if you infuse your IPA at least a week before with flavorful herbs, it makes the whole mix smell and taste amazing! I put a small Mason jar (baby food ish size) full about 1/4 full of lavender, spearmint and lemon balm, then poured ipa over it until it was mostly full. Keep in dark cool area and stir it about once a day or so.
Back to where we were, take this infused IPA (99% is ideal, should be green colored after infusing), strain it through cheese cloth into another container, and take approx 15-20ml, and put it into your small Mason jar in the boiling/hot water, with the heat/flame off. We just want the alcohol to get warm. Measure your spice and harmaline/harmala out and put them both into the jar with the warm ipa. The harmaline might not fully dissolve; that's OK we will still get it to transfer and absorb to the leaf mix.
Measure out your herb blend and put this into another small Mason jar or small Pyrex about 3-4" in diameter. Now take your jar with the warm alcohol, spice and harmaline and while mildly swirling it, pour it evenly over the herb mix. Take the herb mix and mildly swirl it as well, and allow the alcohol to touch and cover all the herbs, without letting it run up the sides of the dish. Now take a fan on relatively low speed and let it run over the dish for 3 hours or so. By that time most if not all the alcohol will be basically gone, but it's a good idea to stir it, move the leaves around, and leave it open in your house etc for another several hours if not more at that point. You can also "cure" it by leaving it open for a few hrs, then close it, and repeat for a day or two. That's all there is to it! It will be ready when there is ZERO smell of IPA anymore. When done, it should smell wonderful like a garden or bouquet of flowers.
Save your jar that the IPA and spice/harmala was in and don't wash it! You can reuse this for future batches and anything left behind will be added to the next mix.
I was given advice to start easy with the MAOI. The first batch I did was 200mg of haramline. This was great advice. Those maoi can be intense and add another element. Please consider taking it easy with this. I almost threw up the other night after 5 hrs of changa on an empty stomach. Definitely best to take it easy with that stuff and work your way up. Also please educate yourself on the health risks of MAOIs. Plenty of that info on here and even google. I smoke my changa out of a small bong/bubbler and it works great. I have been very much enjoying it. I have vaped freebase dmt for years, probably upwards of 250-300 times by now. But I really dig the changa and this will probably be how I do it from now on. If you read this far, thank you, and please feel free to chime in or share what you wish. Attached is a pretty pic of my latest batch! Peace
