did SWIM mess something up or just need defating?- see pic *updated*

So SWIM used STB

combined 2nd 3rd and 4th pull from 100g extraction to one small jar then froze it
after it participated (nice snow coat on the bottom) decanted cold naphta and leave white stuff to dry.
Next day SWIM can see:

Doesn't look like nice cristals to me :? any advice?

ps. used VM&P heated naphta for extraction

It looks like there's a lot of yellow dmt-oxide in that extract, and dmt-oxide doesn't crystallize well. If you want real dmt crystals, redissolve the soluble part of your extract in a minimal amount of hot pentane, then slowly cool it to freezing over 12-24 hours.

what was your drying method? I used to have a problem with my crystals melting. This is what i do now. pour naphtha out, put lid back on and turn it upside down and let it sit in the fridge for a while, remove from fridge and let dry. pay close attention and keep draining when needed.

Once your spice crashes out after being in the freezer a while pour the solvent out. Put the jar back in the freezer upside down so the remaining solvent falls out, then pull the jar out keep it upside down or tilted and put a fan on it.
You just need to try to get all the solvent out and dry it as fast as possible...

since i read many guys just do slow evap i did same thing. that was my only method.
i will definitely try upside down trick!
does it look to you guys like there is fat or something? or is this normal drying fail that is fixable with reX?
also does it looks llke poor yeld from 100g extraction?? that's all except first pull :/

is pentane better then naphta? also is it easy to get?

Exactly!! But I move mine from freezer to fridge right side up then a cool dark dry place for a day

Yes, then after pouring out solvent moved it to the fridge, evaporating dish i got from ebay seems also to help coz it dried out fast even covered in the fridge. ir is solid now and looks like that:

should i get rid or bottom orange layer? or is it good? little explanation here? thanks!
