Difference between THP and a french press?

Just wondering. It seems to me they both work the same way with the same result. Warm solution is mixed with plant material, then filtered out. I read this question posed before with no answer, so I guess I'm bringing it up again. I think it would be fascinating if there actually something about THP method that makes it more effective than a french press.

I am wondering about the same thing. Anyone have experience/success using french press over the THP?

I use a french press for my Salvia extractions and it works very well. I haven't used it for any other extractions, however. There's still an amount of sediment that settles when using the french press, I'm not sure how much sediment would pass through THP...
