Dirty DMT fumarate - How to clean?

So, SWIM just completed his STB extraction of 500 g MHRB yielding 5,5 g of offwhite crystals (yay )

For storing purposes, SWIM wanted to FASA so the final product is more stable.


He added 5000 mg DMT to 250 ml (anhydrous) Acteon - the Aceton turned into an urine-yellow color.
Also he added ~1500 mg fumaric acid to another 250 ml (anhydrous) Aceton.

He mixed and shook the two solutions and DMT fumarate started forming instantly, falling out of solution.



After filtering off the crystals and allowing them to dry, they are a little bit oily and yellow. (Sadly)

SWIM wants to clean them one more time. His available solutions are Naptha, Xylene/Xylol and, of course, Aceton.
Using Xylene would be preferred.

How shall SWIM proceed?

I can get my fumarates from fasw white and very clean/dry from just a few acetone washes. Theoretically naptha, tone, or xylene would work, but the general consensus is that tone is just dandy. I seem to think tone evaps faster of the three, so it would take less time to dry after washing.

Also, if you want nice chunky crystals, i would recommend a distilled water recrystallization of your fumarates after a few tone washes. Just dissolve the fumarates in water, filter water, and evap without heat to get nice large pure fumarate crystals.
