DIY DMT Vaporizer

So I've heard that using a sub-ohm type "e-cig" vaporizer was a quite nice method of DMT administration. I've never tried it before, and didn't want to compromise my daily use mod that I use. I figured I could probably make a dripper style mechanical device that would work quite well for the intended purpose, as well as allow a pretty good sized coil to be made to allow for enough delivery at a cool enough vapor temperature to make the experience pleasant. I love the effects of vaped DMT, but the difficulty in using a flame heated method, and the associated inefficiency is something I've never been a fan of. Nor do I like the particularly harsh nature of the resulting smoke/vapor. In short the device I will detail below makes, by far, the most pleasant experience I've ever had with vaped DMT, produces a fairly cool temperature vapor, and quite a bit of it.

The battery is a 7.2v sub-c cell NiMH pack that is pretty standard for RC toy usage and relatively cheap, I have 3-4 of them lying around. That makes them a perfect choice.

The switch/receptacle is wired with solid copper to supply power to the receptacle when the switch is thrown.

Inside the plug are two cotter keys that act as clamps/holders for the coil.

The coil is made from 30g Ni-chrome 80 wire. It is 4 twisted strands, about 5mm inner diameter, 7 wraps. It is about 0.8Ohm.

The dome is a glass vial with a hole drilled through it. Conveniently, the bottom is "dished" upward so it collects any vapor that accumulates and it can be reclaimed for vaping at a later time.

The wicking material is rayon. I use Graham Cellucotton 100% rayon fiber. This material is incredible as a wicking agent.

Using Ohms law, at full power, that is a 9A draw at 65watts. These packs can discharge at 20+ amps, so I'm good there. I can link two of these packs together, but that isn't needed. If I did link two packs together, the voltage would be 14.4v max and 259watts at 18A using the same coil. Doing this would allow a much larger coil to be wound, but it really isn't needed given the concentrations achievable with the solution. With a single pack, I can vape 5-10 drops of liquid in about 3-5 seconds. There is almost no sense of DMT flavor or smell, nothing sticks or burns on the coil, it all vapes of as long as it doesn't go dry. The vapor at this wattage is quite cool and smooth given there is no nicotine in it. It is easily held in for long enough that nothing is exhaled. At this rate a 50-100mg/ml solution is plenty strong enough if you want to titrate dosage up. DMT will dissolve in a 1:1 ratio with PG, so the concentration can be driven as high as 500mg/ml or so, more than enough for quite a breakthrough with a single hit. Conveniently enough, my dropper bottle delivers 100 drops per ml So at 100mg/ml it is 1mg/drop at 500mg/ml it is 5mg/drop. The less concentrated solution would be great for a hike through the woods, the stronger stuff, a massive breakthrough. With the success of this home made device, I'll likely be buying another dripper style tank for a dedicated "walk-around" dosing machine that would allow rapid up and downregulation of the trip given the conditions. A delivery system like this allows quite a bit of flexibility and a RDTA/tank style mod would allow good portability that my DIY device doesn't.

All-in-all, hands down the best DMT delivery system I've ever tried.
