DMT and temperature

Hi all,
asking this because I'm confused.

So, I see around recipes for Aya or extraction teks mentioning you should simmer (not boil) your MHRB because hot temp might damage the Molecule.
Then I see other threads that promote using a pressure cooker to more efficiently lyse the MHRB cells.

I think a pressure cooker (which I regularly use for cooking food) can reach higher temperatures, right?
Is this bad for the Molecule?
What about freezing? Is it ok?

Basically what I'm asking is a list of known temps above/below which the molecule (in various forms) starts to degrade.
Is there any study on this?

Thanks a lot

I don't know about a study, but yes, there is a lot of contradictory information about this topic.
And this was one of the reasons why I selected STB. I never boil or simmer dmt in any form. I only oven dry dmt in its fumarate form, never over 80C.
If one goes the STB path, he doesn't have to use heat at all, when aiming freebase. Maybe just for re-x.

Generally, if the alkaloids are in the freebase form, they are prone to degradation. If in the salt form, it is better. But heat is not the only enemy, there is more. One of the worst is the oxygen. The worst is the combination of heat and oxygen.

I use a pressure cooker with great results.

That said... if you have mimosa or materials that work fine STB it's a great path, but if your only available materials are acacia you will need to apply some heat somewhere if you want to get decent yields. The plants sometimes won't give up their magic so easily.

I used to do A/B and I did have good results too.
If done properly there won't be huge differences in yield between procedures using heat and without heat. I wouldn't say it is more than 10% of the yield.
But nobody knows for sure, so why to risk it?
Anyway, anyone can do parallel extractions and compare the results if desired.

hi, can you give me more details on how you use it? Do you just put MHRB and water in there and cook? Or do you use jars inside the PC?
I have a stainless steel PC.

This matches my experiences with MHRB. Seems to generally pull more plants fats and oils at higher temperature too. Not worth applying heat in my opinion.

You would be better off using the PC as a water bath if you're intent on heating it, so use jars inside it. Being able to easily transfer solutions will make the process much easier.
