DMT as a stimulant?

Hi all. So I've had this interesting experience on a psytrance festival recently with a DMT vape and I'm curious to hear if anyone has had a similar experience.

I've tried changa and only DMT (mild doses) a few times before on a dancefloor and it always immobilised me. I had to either stand still on sit down for the duration of the effects, but this one time last year I did a slightly stronger hit on a Shpongle set at Ozora when he played Divine Moments of Truth and it's like something in me unlocked. I became light as a feather and my arms and legs just started uncontrollably dancing to the music (completely new moves i never tried before). It was truly one of the most beautiful things that ever happened to me. Ever since this experience, taking a hit of DMT on a festival dancefloor has had this same stimulating effect on me.

Then this year at a different (dark psy, hitech festival) I noticed this behaviour becoming abusive. A medium hit on the dancefloor will give me quite an energy boost and a very pleasant lightweight body high in addition to relatively mild visuals. After the effects wear off (5-10min) i got an urge to do it again and I started to notice it becoming quite abusive as I did it for maybe 1 hour straight every 5-10min, which didn't feel right in the end so I decided to stop with DMT for a while.

Can anyone relate to this?

Got a video? I want you see your dance moves ;)

Not while dancing, I feel I'd fall over and make a fool of myself but I spend a good 90mins taking hits on the DMT Vape and the trippyness builds but nothing like 'abusive', could the DMT be telling you to sit your arse down and enjoy the ride?

Haha sadly (or maybe for the better) no video was made 😂. No, I don’t think it was telling me to sit down. I quite enjoyed moving because it feels like the controls for the moves are coming from outside my body, which is quite fascinating. It feels like i’m entering a circus dimension where i’m being controlled like a marionette.

But getting the urge to re-enter that state felt like it was starting to become abusive.

Depending on how long you might want to dance for, have you considered trying eating the right bit of cactus instead? Or adding a bit of MAO inhibition so the hits last longer? I'm pretty sure some groups of humans have used ayahuasca in a dance ceremony context, and there's also the jurema tradition where dancing can be involved. Both of these count as (MAO-)sustained DMT usage, so use with the intention of dancing needn't be viewed as abuse per se - it's more a matter, in my eyes, that continued use of a PG-based vape juice would eventually start to become unhealthy. If you could switch to either 1,3-propanediol-based juice or a different ROA it should be more sustainable in the long run. You're not going to psytrance parties every weekend for the rest of your life, are you?

was this urge occurring in your day to day life? I guess if that were the case you might be wise in having a rethink. Following that path would include a nonzero chance of you having an experience that forces a sharp reconsideration anyhow 🤷‍♂️
