DMT did not precipitate after ReX

After redissolving freebase in heptane, I washed in sodium carbonate and activated carbon. I heated a beaker of freebase in heptane on a hotplate, then let stand for several minutes. I then mixed in sodium carbonate and pipetted out the polar water layer. I then added activated carbon. I'm assuming I erred at this point, but fortunately I used very little mhrb as this was a trial run with my new setup, and rightly so. The heptane I recovered from the carbon was tainted black, and I ran it through a vacuum filtration funnel, pouring heptane over the carbon with the vacuum running. I then left the now completely clear heptane to freeze precipitate...and nothing.

i may be wrong but i think in the wiki it covers the carbon purification (i think thats were i read it) i think the carbon goes in with the heptane water before you heat and only heat the liquid not the carbon( correct me if im wrong ) but check the wiki

EDIT: i could not find the activated activated carbon method in the wiki or dmt handbook possibly in the faq section as i remember reading it here.

as im reading your post and the directions it dose not say to add sodium carbonate
"I took 1 gram of the original yellow DMT.
Dissolved it into 20 ml of clean naphtha. It has to be in a hot water bath to dissolve in this small volume.
I added 1 gram of active charcoal, the granular type used for fish aquariums that comes in a sealed packet.
I shook it, and the solvent became very very clear, except for the suspended carbon.
I filtered through whatman filter paper and rinsed with an additional 20ml of hot clean naphtha.
The 40ml were evaporated in a casserole dish to get .7 grams of much cleaner DMT. Pictured is the .7 grams after active charcoal cleanup, and a similar amount of the original DMT."

How much activated carbon did you add? There's a good chance you adsorbed all of your dmt to the activated carbon. If you still have it you might be able to pull it out with acetone or perhaps methanol(soak for 12 hours or so filter then evaporate).

Also you don't have to do every clean-up step imaginable all at once. Activated carbon alone should help a lot, re-X alone will help a lot, and a sodium carbonate wash will do the same.

I may have been mistaken and I did have product precipitate. In two of my flat glass containers I have a thin white film covering the bottom that I dismissed earlier but I have managed to scrape up and is white in color. Is this freebase?

if it looks like it smells like it and tastes like it BY GOD IT MUST BE ( LOL i dont really know but i would assume any white powder left after evap. of naptha is freebase

It wasn't even a powder...anyway I smoked it and I'm alive. I experienced what smoking DMT has been for me so far...DISAPPOINTMENT. Three extractions (only 200g mimosa) and I'm fed up with it. I am buying a goddamn vapor genie today even though I don't have the money.

take what ever u have left and do the lazy man tek screw washes and re extracts your jumping into it to fast i think mate do lazytek 4-5 times master it keep reading on other teks and keep practicing follow steps to the T you have to get it eventually.

That's just the thing. I've gotten nice yields from marsofold's each time, this being the first time I've reX'ed, but I've only ever used a lightbulb and a meth pipe to smoke. I've gotten my heart rate up and felt a weird sensation but that's as far as I've gotten. I take the extractions very seriously and know what I'm doing. I've done aya a bunch of times now and I was ready to give freebase another try, but alas...nothing.

man, if yr getting that vaporgenie to end the frustration, i'd think twice... go ahead & get it, it's great, but it is going to be just as frustrating... i've had mine a couple weeks, and it's taken me a 1/4 oz of cannabis to even start figuring out how to smoke it, forget about the freebase... that's gonna be another entire trick on it's own... my advice: roll a joint... put 150mg or so in the middle area of the joint... yes, that's overkill, but you'll have over half of the joint left when you get back from hyperspace... don't put spice towards the ends of the joint, the flame from lighting will kill it... i've never failed this way, & it's much easier when in a group than packing individual bowls & teaching folks how not to kill the molecule... just light one end, smoke & enjoy... if you don't smoke herbs, mix up some mullein, b. caapi, & blue lotus petals... makes a nice, non-drug-test-busting smoke blend...

I just came EXTREMELY close smoking res from my meth pipe. I felt the presence of DMT as I have before. But no breakthrough. I will get this...I think with enough persistence and trial runs I could get freebase in this pipe to work, but my interest in the vapor genie is that I've read less spice goes further and is not wasted as much. I made what I think is hybrid freebase/jungle spice and was going to make a changa blend with caapi lead but I mixed up the extraction steps and decided to smoke my final product instead of infusing the freebase with another herb. What would be a blessing is if I could smoke my product with someone else who has a firm grip on smoking this stuff...yet I don't know anyone who's smoked before.
