DMT extracted had no effect - ugh

Hello all - I’m new to this but have been wanting to try making my own DMT extraction using MH for some time now. Using the method outlined in the DMT workshop video on YT I was able to extract some crystals - including a final heptane extraction. Having done DMT before I am well aware of the profound effects. Unfortunately what I produced did nothing. Instructions were followed exactly. I’m wondering about whether I was actually working w true MH inner bark. Not sure how to tell if the real thing or not... a bit frustrating.

What are the common issues w making DMT? Is anyone aware of this?

Please don't talk about sourcing of plant material from commercial sources, only live plants/seeds, as explained in the Attitude page.

As for the no-effects, there are a few possibilities... Most common being method of smoking, also possibly being medication interaction or the 'denied breakthrough' type issues. Check this FAQ entry and the one above it on method of smoking, and the denied breakthrough entry too.

As for your DMT, you can always get an ehrlich reagent to confirm it is an indole-based substance, at least.

I figured I may be breaking a rule by mentioning that - thanks for clarifying. Smoking method proper - no flame pipe. My concern is the quality of material. May try again .

Any good way to confirm if original material the real thing eg whether actually MH? Looks like it but can’t be sure.
