DMT Extraction: Heat Bath Temperature

Hello there,

What is the optimal temperature of a heat bath?
Somebody told me 60C/140F but he wasn't sure.

Hey, I don't think you need to go that high. In the past, I simply used hot water from my house, which normally doesn't exceed 120-130F depending on your water heater, but obviously cools down rather quickly. Recently I've used a sous vide cooker and set it to 110-120F. I've had good results with both.

Oki doki thanks

I think there is no downside of going pretty high. 70-90 °C is also just fine. In theory it would just accelerate stuff. But not sure if needed. If plant cell lysis would be really needed to achieve a maximum of access to the actives then the higher the better. But if people report also good yields with low temperatures (not sure if) then it would probably not matter. Maybe try any temperature and kep whatever works best.

Yes that would make sense, ok thank you very much

With higher temperatures your yield may well be higher per pull, but your product will tend to be more yellow too.

Whether this is due to increased pulling of 'impurities' or, as current investigations suggest, increased oxidation/oligomerisation of the DMT itself is still subject to ongoing debate. And it may be a bit of both.

Since performing my pulls with everything hot, including the soup, I've been leaning more towards the yellowing being a result of increase oxidation/oligomerisation. I'm not as versed in chemistry, but one reason I lean this way is that even after re-xing the product still comes out yellow.

One love
