DMT Extraction: Separation Layer

Hello,

I was wondering what exactly is the material in the third layer (check image) it got a certain shape to it, and it's shining. Is this spice and should this layer be extracted?
I was under the impression that only the second layer should be extracted.

Hello friend. Looks to me like a fairly thick layer of emulsion. This is not safe, contains NaOH. Leave it for a while to settle. You can try to gently break it up with a glass or wood stirrer.

If it wont clear, you can try to add more NaOH. Shake it up and see if it clears after 30-45 mins.

Avoid getting any of this into your pulls.

Hello! SWINM is a Newbie and is attempting his first extraction, reaching a point very similar to the one you show in the picture. Can someone explain all the layers? From my understanding:
1-emulsion
2-solvent
3-emulsion.

Which means that for the pull, he should extract only layer 2? Did he get it right?

Never shake it or stir vigrorsly never ...

gentle stiring / swerling ocasionally is all that is needed to avoid emulsions

added : K ...if you do it right there will just be 2 layers .
