this alcohol meter works for ethanol and methanol, not sure about ipa:
a bit spendy tho:wink:
ive used sodium sulfate to dry ipa. when it is wet, it all clumps into chunky crystals, when dry it is like salt.
btw, does anyone think 200proof ethanol would work instead of ipa? it is less toxic, and i can distill it myself:d

If IPA washes are done, it is definitely taking away some of the actives. If you can remember in the original tek that the aliens did IPA washes on the fumerates which was effective in getting rid any excess limo smell but the IPA that it was washed with was kind of a reddish brown color. The alien theorized that the washes were perhaps taking away some of the jungle judging by the fact that the experiences were different compared to the most recent tek he did where no washes were done, and the fact that when no washes are done the final freebase is more honey like and hardens when mixed, compared to forming crystals like the aliens' pics in the other tek.
The alien thinks that when you try to freebase this washed stuff it should form nice white crystals but not have as many of the other alkaloids.
The problem seems to be that with just decanting or pouring off the limo, there is not yet a way to get rid of excess limo that is sticking to the fumerates without washing them.
Although in the alien's experience, a little bit of limo seems way less toxic than some stuff he's tried that's extracted with naptha or bestine.

When SWIM performs this method of salting, he will dry the IPA w/ anhydrous magnesium sulfate in THP prior to making FASIPA, and he'll wash the precips once with anhydrous IPA and purify/rextal with water; then he'll wash the limonene/IPA with water, combine it with the IPA wash, and evap that to see what's left behind besides fumaric acid.

ok so....here is an update...the gooo that precipitated out was dried...and it crystallized..but i wanted to try something...so i got some IPA boiling and put in the goopy dmt fumarate...it melted and then got absorbed into the IPA...which i then cooled down...and put in the fridge for over two days...here are some pictures

BTW...that pile of pink dmt fumarate is 3.12g and the light yellow dmt fumarate i got 3.82g. so thtas almost 7g of dmt fumarate...i still have pulls soaking which im expecting quite a bit from...and this is from 360g of bark...which is getting damn near close 1.5%(7000 x 0.76 = 5320 ............ 360 x 0.015 = 5.4)

i really have no idea...that is what im guessing anyway...the IPA that the stuff was crystallizing in turned like a reddish color...and after pouring it off the crystals...it has a nice almost orange red color to it...but very light...so im going to evaporate it and see what i get
Of course; just mix the limo:IPA with plenty of water and shake. The IPA will dissolve in the water and limo will float on the top. Repeat the water washing and ready to go.narmz said:
