DMT Fumarate from D-Limonene - NO FASW EVAP

Wait so the 99% iso and limonene are miscible and blend together as one, instead of separating like water and limo would?


Any estimates on how much fumaric per 100ml of iso or any standard saturation rate like that? Or would you just keep adding fumaric acid until some crashes out of the iso, then decant off?
 
yes, iso and limonene are miscible, unlike water and limo..

as for the solubility of fumaric acid in iso, there is a paper that says the exact number of how much fumaric acid right here, but I dont know how to turn those numbers into simple mg/ml or smt...

In any case, I would just pour loads in, shake the hell out of it, and then filter it, and the undissolved fumaric that gets filtered can be reused for next iso fumaric saturation, so... :)
 
So does it take a bit to evap the residual limo from the fumarates? Do the fumarates you end up with smell of oranges?

Fumerates are really easy to clean so it should be easy to get rid of the orange smell, especially if they are to be freebased.
 
yea...an easy way to get rid of the limo smell is to boil a small amount of IPA...pour in dmt fumarate..and then allow to cool slowly..then stick in the freezer and wait a few days...the dmt fumarate will precipitate out of the IPA..and its best then evaporate the IPA to get any left over dmt out of it...which will still smell like d-limo
 
When precipitating out of the limo, does it need to be cooled at all, or will room temperature work? SWIM noticed instant clouds formed in the limo when the FASI was added, and so assumes that it just needs now to settle?
 
Wait, so you soaked the MHRB in vinegar for 3 days first? I thought you mixed the powdered MHRB in equal parts with the base, and mixed in some water and let it sit for a few hours, then pulled from that with the limonene?
 
I understood the tech in that link, it's just that there was little info at the beginning of this thread and I thought it was more like an STB like Ron69 described

The only problem is the first bit of goo that forms instead of crystals. Any idea how to prevent goo and get crystals instead?

Sometimes goo forms because the crystals don’t have proper time to form. So perhaps adding the FASI very slowly while mixing would prevent goo from forming?

i have not had luck with mhbr and calcium hydrox..but maybe im messing up somewhere

I've done well with it. Two times with MHRB and once with Chalipoonga.

For me, the trick was mixing everything VERY thoroughly....to get a full breakdown & freebase reaction when mixing the lime/MHRB paste, and to get thorough contact between the limo and lime/MHRB paste. I did this over several days.

I may try something different next time though, for the sake of learning new things.
