DMT Magnets.

Has anyone ever felt like for some reason, spice came to you, or chose you, above the hordes of people who will never even hear of it?

I've thought a lot about this, and this is what I've come up with.

The choices we make, the experiences we have, and the setting in which we live, all lead up to our spice encounters. By this I mean that some people are inexplicably drawn to psychedelics, and some aren't. And yet others love them just because it offers a new kind of high (grrr...). But in the end, your choices allow you to meet people who can open the door the entheogens, or other drugs.

So I pose these questions. Are there interdimensional beings at play possibly guiding us down the path to spice? Leading us into their realm/s? Or maybe even interfering in our lives from birth? Or do some people just happen to be in the right place at the right time with the right interests and personality?

It takes a special type of person to enjoy hyperspace travel and the experiences that accompany it. (I say enjoy very loosely, I would not describe it as fun) Did you make you that person? Or did something else?
 
Occam's Razor applies here, I think. We found it because it interests us. And I'm relatively confident that DMT will never become a 'big deal' amongst the buzz-seekers. In fact, I think it will scare them off.
 
Friends in the native american community inform me in the old days (and in some surviving cultures today) all young people traveled with supervision by the elders in a controlled environment with the purpose of discovering if spirit helpers were available to each individual or not. Those who came back with a vision shared it and folks who had been down similar paths stepped closer. Eventually, each person found a place, a clan that transcended birth. So, you had a birth clan, inherited usually through the mother (you know who you mother is, but can never be sure of who your father is). But you also had a functional or spirit clan. If you turned out to be good at making arrowheads, you got inducted into the arrowhead makers clan (so to speak). Hunters had a clan. Farmers had a clan. But if you came back with a strong vision of other worlds and strange beings from the vision quest, then you were headed for the shaman/healer/visionary clan.

I think this is probably true today. Traveling with spice clarifies but also separates. Some get aliens, some don't. Some find peace, some find challenges. If we had a long tradition of traveling, we'd have more information about what else is needed, how to make it more consistent, how to use it more successfully. But this is what's happening HERE. People are describing and testing and reporting. This is like a clan that is growning and separating and yet entwining as people figure things out.

I think that paradoxically DMT found me and I found it. For the majority of my relatively short life I've been on a search for truth, scientific or otherwise, after being failed by religion and the God I was told to believe in. The God I was told to believe in didn't respond to my prayers, so my search went elsewhere, into philosophy, mathematics, the hard sciences, and eventually psychology and the great, ancient and modern "spiritual" teachings. I also began to partake in cannabis, first to self-medicate for depression, then with a more "spiritual" focus after discovering cannabis enhances the flow of "higher consciousness". I soon discovered that the entheogens share similar capabilities for allowing one to access mental realms that normally lie outside of our awareness. At this point I read about Spice but was under the impression that it was so rare that I would never come across it. Later, during travels abroad, I discovered that Spice occurs in many plants around the world, and after meeting someone who had partaken of extracted Spice, I realized that the Spice was actually quite accessible. A mere two weeks later I had my first inhale of Elf-breath vapour.

This is how I found Spice. On the other hand, I think there's a good argument that Spice "found" me. There's a good argument that Spice (and psilocybin) serve as tools for the plant kingdom to communicate with us. How strange that these near-neurotransmitters occur in the plant world, and how strange that when partaken they seem to allow for direct communication between the mind of the Earth and us mere humans. The Earth (or a mental sub-program that claims to be the Earth) has told me and others that she uses these bio-chemicals to help us wake up to the destruction of the planet. I think for this reason - to carry out the will of the Earth, or perhaps even the will of G/d - the Spice does seek out people. Hence we met and interfaced.

Sounds like women get the short end of the stick in this situation.
 
I've been interested in psychedelics and the mechanics of the mind and awareness since I was a kid so I was bound to find DMT :)

I found DMT, DMT did not find me! :) That's for sure ;)
But I believe I was born with that interest for a reason. I'm meant to explore this world.
 
Interesting theories.

I, however, know for a fact that high-seeking DMT users are out there. Let's face it, if something gets you high, even remotely, there are people out there who will abuse it.

DMT is no exception, it's just harder to abuse. As to how they can do it, I don't know. It's hard enough for me to do it once every couple of weeks, and I love the stuff. Yet I definitely know some people who simply use it to get messed up. I might add that, at least in my experiences, these people NEVER strictly abuse DMT. It's usually accompanied by the abuse of other, usually dangerous and addictive, drugs such as ecstasy, ketamine, and even methamphetamines.

The thought of a meth addict recreationally using DMT on a regular basis just blows my mind, but yet I've met a few. All I can say is people are strange.
