SWIM left some dmt on a piece of paper and left for a while. When he returned most of the crystal were gone and there were two spots on the paper.:surprised Those two areas look and feel like wax paper. SWIM is guessing the dmt melted into the paper:cry: . He weighed his dmt and it was 300 mg short. How would he go about getting that dmt out of the paper? Perhaps placing the paper in warm naptha and then freezer precipitation? Any input would be much appreciated:thumb_up:

Try submerging the DMT saturated areas of the paper in a minimal amount of naphtha, acetone, or isopropyl alcohol, remove the paper and then let the solvent evaporate in a dish. You should then be able to scrape up any of the DMT that was previously in the paper. It might be a good idea to rinse the paper a second time with fresh solvent to reclaim any remaining DMT.

I would cut away any paper that does not contain DMT and then add enough solvent to cover the remaining paper. Depending on the size of the paper 20-30 ml should be appropriate. If the paper isn't covered completely, add some more. When the paper is in the solvent, agitate it to try and dissolve as much DMT as possible.

I would use isopropyl since it seems to evaporate faster than naphtha. Definitely consider a second solvent rinse because there will probably be some DMT remaining after the first. You might also consider heating the solvent before extracting from the paper to help dissolve the DMT. A hot water bath would be a good way to warm it but make sure to keep open flames and sparks far away from any of the solvent!
