DMT powder burn on face and lip

SWIM had some DMT powder get slightly on his face and his lip and it burned for some reason??(He sneezed on his jar LOL). SWIM said it was like a numbing burn feeling, he also told me his powder is a light yellow/white. Can anybody please figure this out for SWIM or is this normal??

HE also said he did a sodium carbonate wash before freeze precipitation. He pulled piss colored naptha with no black solution(SWIM is very confident on this).


Here's what SWIM used for his modified lazyman's TEK. SWIM said he got 1G from 100G of MHRB(from only 2 extractions)

Well DMT freebase is acidic by nature... acids do tend to irratate tissue. This is why it isn't recommended to try and insufflate DMT. You are going to be fine.

Thank you. SWIM thought it was strange when it got on his cheek and it had a burning numbing sensation. Its always better to be safe than sorry though

Freebase dmt is NOT acidic. When you extract dmt you attach it to an acid, acidify it, then you basify it which makes it basic. FreeBASE.

One time I was using 'the machine' and inhaled in such a way that all of the vapor traveled over my bottom lip before entering my mouth. The result: that spot on my lip was numb aka tripping hardcore. It stayed numb well after I stopped tripping. It was a very odd sensation, and shows that DMT (even vapor) can be absorbed through soft tissue.

I don't know what the underlying cause is, but this is not an indication that there is something wrong with your dmt. Possibly the same reason lye can burn your skin. Lye is also basic.

Those two above nailed it. Its the same reason people smoke meth in its salt form, which would seem to be counterproductive but in reality is much less painful or messy than its caustic freebase form.

Not compairing DMT to meth but the caustic freebase point is a fairly good analogy.

So SWIM's issue is bad???

Chemically speaking, since dmt is an amine, it acts as a base when in freebase form. Nowhere near an acid obviously as anchry noted.

So Eliteus, your issue is not bad - you are dealing with something that can be mildly caustic in nature.

When you put DMT in your mouth, it burns. When you snort it (as I'm told) it really burns, so I'm not too surprised that it would burn your face, and especially your lips which are more sensitive.

DMT freebase is quite a stable drug but the best way to store anything is in an airtight container in a freezer. The drier, colder and darker the storage, the better.

{ just as an example]...I once ..[may have ]..extracted the nicest looking mescaline crystals.. [I thought at first?]..and threw them away because i mistakenly thought they were lye crystals..
The reason i thought it was lye was because having trouble extracting with exylene and cactus slime .
I added even ..[MORE lye].. then then after seperation ..I pipetted out the acidic water trying for [mescaline citrate]
After over night evaporation of the ..acidic water.. containing .[mescaline alcoloids] in morning i couldent believe my eyes as there was the nicest looking crystals ive ever seen and the large amount caused suspicion..
I put a tiny amount on my tounge and it seemed to burn and i thought it was lye from oversaturation the added lye..
And to this day..Im still not shure if it was mescaline citrate crystals of lye crystals i threw away..
Like the conversation above about DMT freebase burning or not.. my mescaline extraction also seemed hard to figure out..
I only know mescaline FB should taste biter ..but not really burn.. but some minor acidity may sting toung some...
I wished i would have not overreacted so quickly because i wasted a lot of work..
