DMT purity trip relation ?

Sure do bro, when i didnt clean my friend didnt clean the spice at all there was lots of negative energy in the trip.
Since then she has cleaned it up a few times and its much much better!
I wont go into details but for sake of health and mental well being, i think theres every reason to clean it up.

my opinion, which is definitely not shared by all, is that difference in purity makes no difference in effects. I think its mostly self-suggestion, so people think its impure and then have a bad experience, or whatever.. The only way to truely test this is in a double blind test, because otherwise its all interesting anecdotal reports but not really definite evidence. Another thing that might affect is that impurities can be harsher on the lungs, and since external stimulus affects the experience (like the pain sensation in the throat/lungs), then people might have a worse experience or whatever.
What I said above is mostly about naphtha/hexane/heptane-extracted alkaloids.. When one talks about more polar solvents like limonene and toluene/xylene (yuck!), then there are other alkaloids involved, so the trip might be different. But still, I would also like to see double blind tests done. SWIM definitely preffers the limonene stuff, but not necessarily because the full-range alkaloids extracted with it a priori will create a better trip, but more because his conscience feels much better already when using food-safe and more natural products than petrochemicals, and this in turn is in a way paid off with the tranquility that tends to make his trips better. He hasnt noticed a pattern of effects specific to limonene-extracted stuff as compared to naphtha extracted stuff, not because there arent differences (there might be), but more because there are so many variables involved as mentioned above and because the dmt trips are always soooooo amazingly astonishing and mindboggling to him, that he cannot really compare, even two trips from the same batch.
Lastly, its important to note that 'impurities' can be a bunch of thing so its hard to define it all in one category.. we might be talking about dmt n-oxide, we might be talking about plant oils, etc.. So even if two people say 'they like the yellow stuff better' or whatever, they could be vaporizing very different things. In any case I think that, health-wise, people should specially avoid any solvent remains in their product.

I fully endorse the idea of a double blind study, however i feel it would be difficult to try. I feel it would have to be a standard blind study instead of a double blind, at least the person administering (unless IV methods are used?) would be capable of seeing the color difference.
I FEEL as though the purer stuff is a more vivid trip, other than that i notice no quality differences. I am close with a fellow swimmer that would probably be willing to administer pure/impure products. next time we visit i will try this, as well as my thoughts on trying it next to a burning fireplace to see what that brings about. (i'm all about exploring for scientific purposes

This is what I would point everyone to who talks about purity. There is no consensus on what colors are when various people talk about them. Personally, I am a fan of extracting pure white spice and oxidizing it to a faint yellow. I first re-x it to completely clear, then allow slight oxidation in order to guarantee that when I smoke a yellow product it is yellow due to n-oxide and NOT plant oils/fats/other alkaloids. I have smoked yellow spice that was the result of a sloppy pull and enjoyed that as well. It does alter the effects, much as jim-jam differs from straight spice. Colors by themselves mean absolutely nothing in the sense that, unless you know what you did to make it that color, it could be a bunch of things. Colors do have a lot of meaning depending on the extraction technique that caused the coloration...endlessness said:

Depends on the impurity. Taking anything in while taking in the DMT may effect the experience. I have had significantly diffrent experiences simply by taking in spice from diffrent extractions even tho both were realitivley pure. Even the material I use to smoke it with will change the experience. Salvia in my experiements created a much harsher experience than Sage or Mary Jane.
Lye and sodium carbonate, naptha too. I dont want to injest these things. When the sodium carbonate wash was skipped ,id get a horrible taste in my mouth after smoking and my mouth would foam up. Id be sick during the trip. This happened twice so i decided to clean it up every time.

Not to beat a dead thread but, I absolutely believe in the purity. Anything but pure white smokes slow, avoids the heat, and causes an anxious feeling that blocks the manifestation of the good vibes. IN MY EXPERIENCE. I would sacrifice half of my stash just to re-x for pure.
Also there is no taste or harshness when it is the purest. I don't need double blind studies to tell me what ive experienced. IN MY EXPERIENCES. Others I know have brought this up being newbies, without me asking. Without the power of suggestion. My stuff has always been sought out by those close to me. It just is what it is. They know I know what im doing. They trust their other sources, but what I've shared has led them to better experiences.
There are reasons why shamans from ageless tribes drink the ayahuasca from others only if they know who made it and know what their beliefs are. They seem to have a couple thousand years experience over us.
