Hey guys,

It's been a while since I posted. I now consider myself a DMT vet, ha! I've been on the spice every night for the last few months. I don't consider myself to be "abusing" the molecule, but I am still on a journey of discovery. I try to document and record each and every breakthrough I have.

Instead of the earth-shattering, epic doses, I've found that very small amounts give a very nice little high that promotes relaxation. It also has the interesting DMT affects, like my hands change, or the hairs on my arm change.

Does anyone use DMT for relaxation?

I do very much see where your coming from. I have not used deem for relaxation myself do to availability (until now) but I have noticed the most wonderful, yet intense, body high on low doses. It almost forces you to relax.

I look forward to it as something to do when I am already relaxed. I don't use it as a tool in order to relax.
I feel like proper relaxation and meditation are key to productive journeys :-)

Well hmmm..I mean..I guess so.

I think that this sort of shamanic energy work really seeks to retune the mind, body and spirit and bring the 3 into coherant alignment..when the tensions are gone you would expect a state or relaxation..so sure.

That does not mean Im gunna sit back and smoke it like it's cannabis though..

DMT is relaxing, and best when already in such a state beforehand. I will agree that the experience in itself is calming and reassuring spiritually, and grants easier access to such a compounded state of well-being.

I must say that I agree with whoever said that it's important to be in that state of mind of relaxation beforehand. I also do meditation and relaxation before blasting off, sometimes I have to meditate several times over the course of the day for a prepared experience that night. If I spice while tense it usually gets worse so It's hard to say that the spice itself has a direct effect of relaxation. In regards to you saying a small dose relaxes I couldn't disagree more. For me personally If I'm not breaking through I don't really find it useful. But I usually find that not here not there sensation of a small dose really uncomfortable. If I don't get a large enough dose I usually just lay there with my eyes shut having to tell myself that it'll all be over soon. On the other hand, a really large dose with the right mindset I find quite relaxaing and cleansing. But to each his own! You remind me of where I was a few months ago. I used the spice very much for a year like 3-4 times a week then it finally tapered off. I feel one has to do the spice when it is calling to him/her. For the past couple months it has been on my mind everyday and yet I haven't felt that urge to jump in yet. Although, I feel/hope the time is close because I really want to blast of soon! :D

I prefer Changa for this. If I remember correctly Caapi and rue have slight anti depression properties. I can't source these claims at the moment but remember reading this somewhere.

I have before, when feeling tense taken the smallest hit of Changa to relax and help ease me into a meditative state. I would not be using it for a visual experiences, but for slight mood changes.

Do what works for you. I wouldn't depend on these things as a permanent solution of relaxation. We must be self aware and be able to find inner sources of relaxation.

I would never use DMT with the intention of creating a relaxation effect, though it of course can often times be a byproduct.

DMT is ALWAYS a route to relaxation and Meditation is the Portal all TRUE SEEKERS must cross to Speak to God. For God is speaking to you. In All Ways.

Good post, I also agree that it's a great relaxation tool , it's intrigued me right from the start that micro doses had this effect , and I mean small..., like sub 2mg range. I hate to admit it but just inhaling the vapour from my stash is enough to do it, or even a tiny toke or two from an uncleaned GVG.

Small to medium doses have a much more uncertain outcome (with me) and often times will worsen a depressed or anxious mind frame.

Any bio-psychiatrists here that could shed light on why the very low dose range seem to produce this anxiolitic effect?

I've certainly used DMT for relaxation or letting my mind release after a long workday a number of times. I agree that changa is much nicer for this, that's probably just the euphoria speaking. That said, I've used anything from white freebase to changa to enhanced leaf to freebase resin with successful results.

I don't own a milligram scale, but just a tiny pinch is more than enough to achieve relaxing effects. Great for slowing down thoughts, enjoying a moment, and getting back to your day.

The most infallible guide to Shadow material is our uncomfortable feelings. Many do not like to use low doses because these feelings come to the surface. Rather than experience them, they use larger doses to transcend them. But these uncomfortable feelings are precisely what we must resolve to free ourselves from the Shadow, gain strength and energy, and function more comfortably and competently in the world. By using smaller amounts and being willing to focus our full attention on whatever feelings arise and breathe through them, we find that these feelings eventually dissolve, often with fresh insight and understanding of our personal dynamics. The release of such material permits an expansion of awareness and energy. If we work persistently to clear away repressed areas, we can enter the same sublime states that are available with larger doses—with an important additional gain. Having resolved our uncomfortable feelings, we are in a much better position to maintain a high state of clarity and functioning in day-to-day life.

Low doses kind of force me into a very meditative state. Can be a bit hectic to begin with but always ends up very relaxed and just thinking about my life and what's going on. It gives me direction.

And I feel energised afterwards.
Yes low doses can be very beneficial too me :)

Sorry but... saying this isn't abuse is highly disturbing, "I don't consider myself an alchoholic, but I drink everyday". This is how that just came across to me and using something so powerful as a relaxant? That's like taking valium just to bring you down a notch, I think perhaps you need to take a step back and look at what you're actually doing. Many of the people I know, including myself that have been introduced to DMT, take months to adapt and intergrate their experiences into their lives.

I'm actually quite upset by what I'm reading here, it's the same statement I speak of to many of my stoner friends, there is use and abuse for EVERYTHING we do, it becomes an addiction, chasing itself again and again, what you're doing from my own point of view is abuse...

Ignore my sentiment if you wish but.. this is just how I feel about what I'm viewing right now..

very bad comparison.

dmt is nothing like valium. the GABAergics are serious drugs of abuse, whose cessation of use can result in debilitating tremors, akin to DTs in alcoholics;
and dmt isn't quite like ssri's, which may also have side-effects with abrupt cessation.

taking dmt everyday is certainly habitual use. abuse? I dunno. does it affect your ability to function or alter your grasp on reality?
