Hi!
I'm curious how smoking DMT compares to smoking powerful Salvia extracts. I know the active substances are totally different and the experiences are, I'm sure, also quite different but I'm thinking about it in terms of the power of the experience, for lack of a better term. I have a lot of experience with Salvia and I remember how none of my previous experiences with entheogens had in any way prepared me for Salvia the first time I used it. lol I'm wondering if I'll feel the same way about my first experience with the spice once I'm able to look back on it.

I feel like salvia possesses me. I often don't know what had happened till the trip is over (eg I become a table and that seems quite normal till it's over) whereas DMT leaves my sanity alone. Salvia visions (for me) are quite dark and green (very organic) and creep up on me, whereas DMT is hypervivid, bright, purple/red and punches me in the face.

I hope that provides a bit of clarity

In my experiance salvia extract doesnt possess me.. but it teaches me that there are other worlds besides the one we have. been taught to live in and gives me a chance to see a true reality by temporaraly removing the filters that makes normal reality seem like the only reality..
Salvia goes deeper in some ways than DMT.. because it reaches other realms in the mind than DMT..
DMT is an awesomely beautyfull roller coaster ride but salvia borders more on entering the spirit world and the spirit world is not always a fun place to visit..

Salvia is not meant for fun.. but is a tool for self exploration and looking inside.
DMT im shure also has some spiritual lessons to be learnt.. and doesnt change judgmental thought which is good.
But Salvia on too high a dose can be hypnotic or effect recall of the experiance..
But salvia taken in the right doses can actualy be a nice experiance and offer insites we cant normaly feel during normal reality...
I dont think salvia or DMT are really meant for fun..they are booth tools..

This.

If DMT takes me to another reality, Salvia seems to temporarily destroy my ego only to allow it to become reborn into another form, merging into the fabric of reality, the "behind the scenes" interdimensional mechanics of reality. It allows me to apparently assume any form of creation, to become it. As if consciousness can possess any aspect of its creation and allow Creator to experience it's Creation. To know itself as itself objectively as well as subjectively.

Thanks for sharing, everyone! And thanks for pointing me toward further conversation on the topic, Nathanial. It sounds like Salvia may be the yin to DMT's yang. I'm excited to explore this light for myself. :)

There were a few times.with salvia where "they" made a mistake, or broke reality. Like being on the set of a tv show and someone bumped over a wall or.something. Its like "I knew you were there!!! I caught you hahaha". "You broke reality and I caught you in the act". Very strange.

I can almost always go to hyperspace but Salvia...

I've only done it once, a few months ago. There were many things I've forgotten, but this is what I remember. I was in a black void, with a row of burning candles, felt the presence of many entities around me, like a game show. Then I heard, 'One candle for every year that you are alive!!!!' as they were being blown out 1 by 1 by someone. I was then SEMI transported back to my physical room, but it was spinning. I felt I had to activate Ninja mode to just get back to this dimension, as if I was going to miss it slightly. I jumped up and dashed across the room, in a kinda lunge, I grabbed the floor to hold on to this 'dimension' breathing deep 'ujjayi' breathe. Hard to describe... but it was deff one of the most terrifying experiences I've ever had. Glad I didn't jump the other way, out a window....(like the viral dude on youtube)

Whereas with spice, I've never been terrified, just intense, like 'OMGFUKNGODWTFFFFOOOONNNOOO'

I have always found movement difficult while travelling with Salvia. The first time I smoked it I had bought some 20X on the Internet and really didn't know anything about it. Because I had bought it legally and had it shipped to me I didn't expect it to be remarkable. Maybe like a mild marijuana high. I packed a full bowl of the 20X and burned it down in two hits. I was standing as well. Suddenly gravity turned 90 degrees and I careened into the wall. lol Somehow I managed to drag myself up the stairs so my wife could keep an eye on me for the remainder of the trip. Ever since I've made sure I was seated with a glass of water within reach and I move as little as possible.

On one particular journey I felt like I got a good view of where I was. I wrote the experience down:
After smoking the saliva, I fell back onto the couch and stared into space. It was difficult to remember what or who I was. It was as though I was floating above a spherical lake and had my face dipped in it with the water just covering my ears. As I lifted it out I realized the reality to which I was accustomed existed across the threshold of the surface of this lake and that what I thought of as my life had taken place in the space of time I had my face in its waters. On this side of the lake everything was other. I pushed my finger back into the lake and Sparky licked it on the other side. I felt his tongue on my finger and could see him through the water. I had the feeling that I might be able to pull myself away from the lake all together but that if I did I may not care to come back or even know how.

Salvia is definitely a powerful magic. I want to grow it as an ally. :)
