Does anyone have experience with inexpensive Chinese magnetic stirrers?

Hello,
do these work just as well as shaking? I'm slightly paranoid about the lye and wonder if this is a good alternative without spending a fortune? They sell for 12€ on aliexpress

Some Chinese products are great and made with a lot of care for safety and fidelity. High end audio proved that many times.

However for 12,- euro you will probably get a very poor replica of an already bad product. Plastic all over, no safety mechanisms, just the cheapest crap you can get.

You might get it just for fun, but I would be very aware of it catching fire and being very sloppy and weak with its stirring rpm.

IME, gearing up for an extraction is not the right place to get monetarily conservative in. If you can afford it, spend the money on higher-grade equipment. You're doing yourself a service that will pay for itself in the experience it'll bring you.
