Does anyone reliably have good experiences w/ DMT?

Migrated topic.

The more I read about it, the more it seems like it's just a toss-up as to whether one has a good or a bad experience with DMT. Is there anyone that always knows they're going to have a good time every time they blast off?

I don't think you can really speak of 'good' or 'bad' experiences since every journey involves so many different aspects during flight time. The last year there have been times it was hard and rough in hyperspace for me but it all ended well and I learned a lot from them.

However, I have noticed that you can take precautions against certain 'bad' factors in hyperspace, here are a few of them:
* Prepare well, take your time. There is no such thing as a mandatory hyperspace flight. If you feel bed, abort mission.
* Launch vehicle and launch environment: Make sure you feel well in that environment, that you won't get disturbed and that it feels, looks and smells good.
* Meditate! Meditate a lot up front, make sure you up your concentration that whole day before you press that launch button.
* Activate your right brain half, it really works like a charm. You can do this by listening to music and singing along with it the hour before you take off.

Try some of these point the next time you wanna launch, it might help you.

It is not an experience to be judged.

I enter with intention... whatever happens, happens; I interface on the basis of breath and intentions. Remembering why I am here is like my little boogie board when I am tossed around at sea.

As long as I learn something, as long as I am inspired--even if it took going through hell to get there--it was a good ceremony.

If you come to see a teacher, the more lessons you are able to take home, the more you can apply your studies, master them, and learn on to moving even more amazing things... the better. I have never had a "bad experience." I've experienced an entire cosmic range of emotions, yes--but that only confirms how profound being truly is...

Nah it all seems pretty good here at the moment.

A few times when I first smoked I got a little anxiety, but that's pretty much completely unheard of now. The more I do it the more I know for sure that it's all good.

Very reassuring.

thanks for this one mr T "* Activate your right brain half, it really works like a charm. You can do this by listening to music and singing along with it the hour before you take off."

I never know what the experience will be like, but I've never had a truly bad experience with DMT.

I've had times where I got scared yes, but that's entirely my own fault for not letting go. A few times I thought I died but I always come to the same conclusion "Well, that wasn't so bad afterall". I've never had a being try to attack me or hurt me either. In fact, they usually just convey feelings and thoughts or otherwise leave me alone.

I suppose based on this, I just assume the trip will go alright. Even if I'm worried about what will happen, it still turns out good. I wish I understood the psychology behind it but nothing happens that I can't deal with. I can always reassure myself mid-trip if anything goes wrong.

I have had some heavy duty, white knuckle experiences that seemed like more than I could take, but I've never really had a "bad" one.
I have had a few "bad" LSD trips, were it seems like your entire world is falling apart & it's all because of you & your thoughts & actions being so significant!!
And it goes on & on for hours!!!

It's never like that for me with DMT, my mind stays pretty much normal, it's the quickness & overwhelming reality of the whole experience that makes most people freak out.
But if you know that it's coming on like that & you are willing to just watch & observe whatever happens, rather than try to effect, or change it in any way, it seems to slow down a bit & "communication" can happen.

When you are fighting it & trying to stop the heavy, trying to make "elves" come out, it fights back harder & it will always win...but only for 5-10 minutes.
Your always coming back...usually way too soon!! So there's no need to freak out.

Like others have said, it's truly all about letting go of everything!!
Forget about good or bad & just observe!!!

The quieter you are (your thoughts & expectations quiet!) & the more you forget about having a "good trip", the more you can start letting the DMT show you it's reality!!
And it will show you...if you are willing to just listen!

Bad? - NO
Good? - NO
Deep, complete other worldly landscapes & definite contact that sometimes seem overwhelming - YES!!!

I went through a period where i was intimidated by the substance. At some moment you will shed that fear.

Ofcourse, everybody has a level beyond wich you simple lose your sanity.
That's when you take way too much or when you take it in an intolareble environment.

But in 99.999% of all cases, with something as simple as just using your common sense, you can avoid those situations.

Your welcome. You already tried it I assume? How did it work out for you?

its funny you mention that traveler as i am VERY right brain in my thinking.. on every test iv taken its shown dominantly right
even moreso over the past year. perhaps thats why i dont get fear anymore and can talk myself down, i always have that calm center to talk with reassuring my silly ego :)

take a look at this people i can ONLY see it going right
some see it going left but can switch to right
some only see it going left

id be willing to bet that anyone having issues with fear sees it going left first
i think the secret is to learn how to control it then just do that while you trip

since i have learned to control the fear yes
every time is BETTER then the last

same for me, as long as I adhere to the following, I know I will be o.k.

- No more than once a month
- Always a positive, healing focus or intention, clearly defined before dosing.
- Always with meditation, candles, incense.

as long as I do those, I get good trips. Every time. Unbeleivable things,
the spice can show you. Incredibly healing, teaching, wonderful things.

Its not a drug, its a sacrament.

The problem in life isn't that there is not enough joy, its that once you start harnessing the
spirit winds, there is SO much positivity, and SO much joy, that it becomes a problem!

I couldn't understand what Psychosisdoses was talking about with the spinning girl. I looked at it and thought..."It only spins in one direction. How could it look like it was spinning in the other direction? Then I slightly looked away and it started spinning in the other direction and I could make this happen by slightly looking away and then when I'd look at the spinning girl she would continue spinning in the new direction!
Anyway, I really like what people are saying here about preperation and what WSaged says about during the trip. I've noticed that I still usually get the "Fight or Flight" part of my brain activated and I know that if I didn't know better and hadn't been through this several times the fear and outright terror could make for a "Bad" experience. Not buying in to the fear seems to be the trick but it's not something that just comes natural for me and that's why being physically and mentally prepared is so important.

Very true, shoe. All the love, and bliss that flows out of me now gets confronted by opposition sometimes...which only makes me laugh...
