Does boiling Bark or Leaves degrade DMT?

Migrated topic.

How hot is too hot? Do The Shamans that boil over 10 hours straight know that DMT has a boiling point of 345F-170C?

I'm sure the sharmans that have being brewing aya for 100s if not 1,000s of years no what there doing ! Also water boils at 100c so you'de really have to boil the shite out of it to ruin the molecule !!

Please tell me in what situation you would want to boil basified dmt?

For safety's sake, DO NOT DO THIS.

You boil DMT plant matter to extract DMT Fumarate, then basify it to create DMT freebase, then pull that out.

Not a single Tek on here suggests boiling basified DMT.

So the question is irrelevant to us.

Just to confirm, boiling basified water (lye water) will evap the dmt right?

Never boil basified water! The basification has turned the DMT salt (which is heat resistant) into DMT freebase, which is much more heat-sensitive. You risk destroying the DMT by turning it into vapor which would escape into the air along with all the boiling water vapors. There is no reason to ever boil the basified water. Not to mention that you risk the boiling water splashing lye all over you! 😉

I've noticed that you've got a lot of basic threads/questions that can be answered by reading through some of the available materials.

I suggest taking a few minutes to read the whole FAQ, which has answers to most of the questions (not just from this thread but from your other threads):

There's also a wiki which is full of information, so try searching it for some keywords before starting a new thread about something that's already been covered before. You will get quicker answers that way, and people won't have to take time to explain info that's already available here:

But of course feel free to start threads if something in the FAQ or Wiki confuses you, or if you need urgent help with an extraction, etc.

Good luck, Dr! :)
