Yes, it is definitely a very believable impression, but that is not to say it isn't the actual thing. With dmt, I always come back to myself, and I would guess that maybe with dying you don't come back, I really don't know though, and I don't believe that anyone really knows.
I wouldn't say that my life feels completely different, but I do feel that this experience has aided my concept of what the afterlife might be like, and it has definitely led me to be open to more ideas/spirituality.
I know how easy it is to feel like it is a valid source of information but I have to check myself and realize it is a psychoactive drug and has unexplainable effects on rationality.
It is all to easy to adhere to the idea that I am just an organic robot set up to exist for a short time for computatonal
processes that serve some end that I am denied awareness of directly (like the reason for mans existance on earth, popular conspiracies like harvesting
energy for aliens or etc etc)
But why I don't buy into this organic robot type functionality completely is because when you direct your mind towards all the understanding of the principles of reality
like how does matter exist, what is time, where is the location of the universe? there seems to be no definitive reasoning or even at least intuitive rationalisation
for anypart of the explaination of what you find in existance, I mean nothing whatsoever!
Even though there are concrete particulars we can work with, chemical reactions, cells, sound, physical forms etc. The foundation of all these are just concepts that the mind cannot ascertain meaning for so much so that the interperetation of these so seeming constants are vary arbitrary, so only the trained mind or expanded mind pick up on there incompleteness of total understanding (mathemeticians, philosophers, psychedelic users etc.)
So therefor I think this leaves some avenues open for the afterlife continuation as some part of what you are existing
as now. It could be that you are existing as something else right now although you don't realise it completely and
then when you die you become aware of what you were blind to previously. For example, if some part of your physical makeup was conscious and when it decomposed it become hyperconscious. That is only an example and not what I intend to mean only trying to let you see how such a process might exist with some childlike imagination, or say my conscious awareness was actually existing not in the physical plane that I think I am existing in but somewhere else behind the simulation like another dimension and when I died, I finaly realised I lived my entire life from this totally other place and never realized it.
Funily enough, this interperetation problem I wrote of previously extends onto subjective perception too. I mean, you know what it feels to touch, see, hear but you don't know how it is to understand these sensations without labeling them. A baby human doesn't have a fully developed sensory analysis bay and therefor is lost in multi-interperetationalism just like how we alternative minds can ponder the multi-interperperational nature of the boundaries of reality.
