Does Lye clump?

I hadent used any lye for a few years, and i opened it just now and most of it is loose, except for a clump in the middle, its still white and looks like the rest of the lye except its a ball.. could it of came like that?

Is it still good? Thanks

Yeah, NaOH does easily clump together. It is often sold as small or big chunks. I would think it is still totally fine to use, provided it has been stored air-tight.
