does plastic degrade in naptha or NaOH?

it's just that 1L glass bottles are hard to find and I thought I could use a plastic bottle. I'm pretty sure naptha doesn't dissolve the plastic but any one know about the NaOH? thanx, Chazz

Naturally, that depends on the grade. The ancient mayans left scrolls depicting the use of Deer Park brand water jugs (the 3 gallon was mentioned in the scroll I'm thinking of). Course that is HDPE plastic the ancient mayans were using and it caused no problems.

Milk bottles and juice are Ok to use I think. Hehe, my friend just uses a 4L shellite bottle.

as Heyoka said, HDPE is perfect to use. milk bottles are HDPE, im not sure about juice bottles. id exepct them to be because they store consumables??
