Does yield vary in potency?

Hello all! I’m brand new to this but something seems off.

I’m using 50g MHRB powder per batch to learn.
I’ve used Cyb’s Hybrid Salt Tek and Noman’s Tek.
I’m using a YoCan Orbit to vaporize it.

I seem to be getting good yield for such a small amount of bark, but it doesn’t register on my cheap scale (photos attached) and it seems to take a lot of product to produce one inhale.

My questions:
1. Does yield have varying potency?
2. Does yield have varying weight (density)?
3. Am I using the wrong instrument to ingest?
4. Could I have poor quality bark?

I’m OK with learning slowly, just want to check for something I might have missed in my self-education.

Thank you!

Yield is the amount you obtain in %. The potency depends on the purity of the final extraction but from what I've seen the basic extraction method obtains high purity.

Your yield seems to be low. For 50gr mhrb you would expect around 0.5-0.7gr final product.

For weighing on a mg scale it needs a bit of starting weight, you could weigh it inside your container for example (glass vial).

Note that your scale is set to a precision of centigrams (1 centigram is 10 milligrams). So it will only measure DMT in increments of 10mg.
It probably has some setting to show "0.000g" when empty instead of "0.00g" as it currently does.
