Once upon a time, many moons ago, I got some orange'ish powder of a more chalky texture and not like a crystal.

I ate this powder maybe weighed 1 or 2 grams a most and had the best trip ever. But to this day I have no idea what it was.

The effect was like a *Narcotic Hallucinogen* Very much like knoding on Opium, going in an out of dreams but with visual Hallucinations very undulating wave like and if I am not mistaken my coffee table turned into a tiger for a moment, but I was not frightened. I remember telling this to my friends the next day. I think the drug lasted for a few hours maybe 4 or 5 , not that sure on the time.

Does this sound like any drug you know of ?

Thanks for any feedback. I am dyeing to find out what it was.

I suppose it could have been DXM but I have never taken DXM to compare it with. I'm guessing about the weight maybe more like 1 gram.

It was quite a buzz.
 
I think it is unlikely that it was any tryptamine (DMT, bufotenine, 5-MeO-DMT, psilocin, etc) or phenetylamine (mescaline, 2-C*, etc), given your description of it as narcotic in nature and somewhat like opiates. Tryptamines and phenetylamines are generally stimulating with an intense feeling of love and joy.

I am also thinking in the lines of an NMDA antagonist like benzyme does, where DXM, ketamine and PCP is the most known. If it indeed was 1-2 grams, the substance is likely to have been very impure.

Could you provide any more information, perhaps comparison to other substances you have tried? And what physical effects were noted?
 
I used to be a DXM junkie.. not proud of it but just saying for my base.

Maybe a mixture of MDEA and a 2C ?

you should find out what your getting before just eating it :p ... just saying

What? You don't think it could be DXM, but a mixture of MDEA and 2C? That's the strangest thing I have heard all day... Neither MDEA nor 2C-* nor a combination of them would produce anything close to the effects Brian is talking about. DXM could.
 
Hmm I'm not quite sure just based on those descriptions, any other effects experienced?

But I thought I'd post to say I can empathize- as I've also had a fairly intense experience with a mystery substance, since then I can definitely advise that you should know the supplier and be certain what your ingesting before taking something (not that it is of any help to you now >.> ) What I took was a brownish, crystalline-powdery substance in two caps- I was told it was "like MDMA" but what I took most certainly was not MDMA. I had blackouts and felt very, very dissociative and like I was somewhere else body wise (if that makes sense) but incredibly talkative and had some fairly strong psychedelic effects- someone vanished in front of my eyes mid conversation =/ But I have taken MDA before and it certainly didn't feel like that so Ive ruled that out.
It was pretty confusing on the whole, and just based on the colour/effects I have assumed it may have been 2CB. I had a friend tell me that they had taken 2CB before and it was in a brownish, crystalline powder as well. But yeah uncertainty is frustrating.

Ok, sorry i reread it and maybe dxm, but i doubt a table would just turn into a tiger on it.

My other thought after re reading is Dimenhydrinate? It produces a heavy knock to it with a fading in and out feel. I once had a dream in the place i was in, awoke, realized it would have been impossible for that to happen. My friend once saw a cat in front of the car when, there was no cat.

Thats my best bet
 
This was many years ago when I was about 17 I guess {I'm 47 now}. I was told it was mescaline, but I did not know what that was when I was young, except that it was a Hallucinogen from a cactus. I have had a disappointing Cactus test a while back and the effect was not the same.

The visuals were very undulating more than acid but I don't remember any patterns with it. Along with the narcotic like effects it was nice.

Yeah, if it is a full-alkaloid extraction from cactus and not pure mescaline, it is often very sedating. That would last anywhere from 8 to 15 hours though. DXM became available over-the-counter in 1958, according to Wikipedia.

Yuck! That experience sounds miserable. Based on your description above, I wouldn't classify that experience as psychedelic, but rather purely dissociative / deliriant. But then again maybe there were psychedelic effects, as it was your trip / not mine. :)

Go to the store, buy a little tube of dramamine for 4 bucks, eat them. and tell us if it feels the same. This would be my bet, and people would totally do that to make money ><
