E-Mesh Question about RDA/Atomizer

I'm wanting to get into direct e-mesh with these configurations:

-Aegis Solo Mod Box
-Wotofo Profile RDA V1.5
-Vandy Vape Mesh Wire SS316L 200

I've seen people talk about the Wotofo Profile, and it seems to work just fine. I am not sure about the Profile V1.5 though. Is this version better, or worse than the normal profile? Will I have troubles with this RDA?

Will this setup overall work? What most worries me is the atomizer from this aliexpress link. Any input would be appreciated

From the research that I did the 1.5 is a bit better than the original. The thickness of the top cap is greatly reduced giving more room for the coil and I believe the space between the two slots was increased a bit as well giving room for a slightly bigger bit of mesh with less bending. I use the 1.5 and it has served me well so far, with the vandy vape mesh you will have to trim a few millimeters of width off the tails of the mesh for them to fully fit in the contacts but otherwise it works great.

The pictures on that page are actually of the original version, not the 1.5 though. Don't know if they just neglected to update the photos or what the case may be.

Hey, thank you for the quick reply. I am definitely going after this RDA then. I'm happy that this RDA has bigger size than the original, making it easier to load spice. I'll use this setup and update on what I think of the direct Emesh as soon as I can.

Oh, also. I've seen the Wotofo Profile M as an alternative. Do you know if this atomizer outperforms the 1.5 for spice?

The 1.5 is the only e-mesh device I have any experience with but I have been very happy with it.
I couldn't speak to the profile M, but personally I would shy away from versions with glass tanks and go for dripper designs as tank versions typically have smaller build decks and less volume for the vapor and also the glass is just an extra thing that could potentially break at some point. Also you generally have to disassemble them more to get to the mesh and we want the easy access that comes from dripper style atomizers. One could probably use a tank version if that was all they could get but I would say it is not preferred if there is any other option.

I can't look at that aliexpress link anymore(and I can't really read more than a few words of Portuguese either) but make sure whatever you order actually is the 1.5, the 1.5 has two rows of air holes whereas the original has three rows of air holes, that link may simply be saying 1.5 when they are actually selling the old version. Check that video I posted so you can see the two versions and make sure you get the one you want. I am sure they will both work fine, but I think the 1.5 is just a bit better for the reasons discussed in my original post.

What mod/mesh are you using and what are your settings at? My Solo has been acting up. The last two trip attempts ended with either it catching fire or vaping only a fraction of the dose. I am close to just ordering a new one and seeing if it is a defective device. I also plan on using mine in wattage mode since it seems like a temp control issue. I've been using the VV role mesh #200. I've had one BT and many sub-BT trips and have a lot of issues with consistency and at this point I'm convinced that my mod is just defective but I'm hoping I'm wrong as I am tired of spending money trying to get mine working right and reliably.

EDIT: Never mind, I found your comments in the e mesh thread. I'm about ready to just buy a DNA mod since they are much more reliable and I cannot approach my BT attempts with any sort of confidence if the Solo can't deliver. It takes too much prep and ritual to just end with disappointment.

Hey, after further digging, I've confirmed that all of the reviews on that aliexpress site are for the V1 and not the the V1.5. I can't find the 1.5 version anywhere that has a good price. I am considering purchasing the 1.0 version regardless because of this. Do you think this will be a mistake? I know the 1.0 version has reduced internal space, but I hope it is not too bad.

Yeah I've been following your troubles and I am really sorry about it, I wish I knew what the issue was and could help. My setup has been working swimmingly. I really feel for you and can understand the frustration surrounding all the problems and misfires you have been going through. Based on the different problems you have had, normally my first guess would be it having to do with the coil, screws, and electric connections of the atomizer, that minor changes cause the mod to read very different resistances and thus apply massively differing voltages to try to provide a certain wattage and thus massively underpower or overpower the coil. This is something I would run in to from time to time back when I was winding my own coils for vaping e-juce.
However, I can say that in the past I had software issues with an Aegis legend(for regular e-juice vaping) so I have personal knowledge of Geekvape's devices not being 100% reliable so I can't really rule out it being an issue with your Solo either. Overall, I hope you are able to eventually get everything worked out and working reliably because it really is a great method once you get it dialed in. I'll be pulling for you

I've got a fair bit of experience with vaping knockoff products and generally I've been very happy with them. All of this stuff is made in Chinese factories, for the name brands you are paying for innovation, name, and quality control. But a lot of times the knockoff products can rival the original products at much lower prices. Sometimes you get a dud, but a lot of times you will get something good. I was totally planning on getting a knockoff similar to what you posted from a Chinese seller before I ended up finding a domestic store selling the Profile 1.5 along with everything else I needed and that I wouldn't have to wait as long on shipping. I don't think it would be a mistake to try out a generic mesh atomizer at all if the price is right.

Thank you, it has been rough lol. It's all good though. I too used to wrap my own coils and have a lot of experience with mods good and bad. Yesterday I ordered a DNA mod so I'm stoked about that and I rebuilt the current rig yesterday using a fitted mesh of #120. Once the new mod gets here, I'll just move the rda over to that and probably continue using the fitted mesh method from here on out. TCR seems to be working better than the tc-ss mode and I am going to shoot for a BT this evening. Once I get the new mod all set up and working consistently, I'll post some pics. I'm designing a little DMT molecule logo to load into the software for it too. I figured if I'm going to buy a new one anyway, I'm just gonna go ahead and pimp my ride to hyperspace.

Let me know how the new mod works. I have had issues with my aegis but it also seems to be with the coil if the mesh is shoved in too far. If your new mod is free from issue that is one step towards knowing for sure. As far as the WISH RDA. Looks the same as what i got from fasttech. These build have an issue with the top of the coil coming off when removing the top. They are just snapped in place and the materials are cheap. Looks like a VV v1 but the build sucks in comparison.

I always glow test before loading. At least if it is acting up and needs re-seating i know before I burn it or melt a flacid hit.if all else fails punt for the GVG
