Efficiency of Mimosa cold water extraction

That's the most common question I get. Maybe I should stop proclaiming my views on the matter šŸ˜†
To put it simply, I feel there is too much stress on the body long term. Then there is energetic weirdness to the combo.
I guess it depends on how often you use it and what you are after. This combination is like a surgical knife of sorts. It would be fine to use for a specific task,
but going deep with it feels off. Like I'd go to a surgeon if I break something, but I won't go there for physiotherapy afterwards. Hope this helps.
Hmmm... Interesting. Thanks. I am only just beginning to build a relationship with Jurema and have found it to be extremely therapeutic and healing thus far. However, I will be mindful potential long term detrimental effects. I certainly don't use it often, maybe a handful of times a year. I do find that each time I journey, I find deeper lessons and layers, so it does feel like going deep could be beneficial. I suppose it depends on the definition of 'deep' 😊

Oh, just to give you context, I was thinking more like once or twice a month and doing it for years. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful medicine, and you may end up with different conclusions. We need to take the person taking it and how they do it into account. My doses were usually over 5g, and that's a lot with mimosa, given a proper preparation. Jurema has a following in Brazil for a reason. It's just that rue is not traditional. Somehow, combining rue with barks is always heavy compared to leaf brews.
Anyhow, it all depends on you and your own relationship with the plant.

I've been reflecting some more on the matter. The main difference between barks and leaves is how forceful or strong barks are. You can easily cook a brew that will break your mind open. Not everyone is ready for this or knows how to deal with such a state. Barks are much less purgative, especially if you remove the tannins. This tendency to purge with leaves is a plant's natural safety mechanism. Basically, when the experience is too much for your system, you vomit. So, it is not just about a shamanic cleansing. Barks tend to give more anxiety and somehow feel less grounded. Leaves give more practical insights into your life and struggles. They are more in the direction of mushrooms that way, even if they are quite different. I would say that barks are closer to a traditional vaped DMT experience too. In the end, you need to answer all your questions yourself. I'm just giving you my own perspective here. Safe travels.

IME any plant that has a high DMT content vs other alkaloids is closer to a traditional vaped DMT experience. Mimosa, Psychotria and one acacia I tried(phyllodes) all produce a classic DMT experience. Obviously it makes sense that drinking mimosa will be most like vaping mimosa( which lets be honest that’s what most are doing by ā€œvaping DMTā€). For those who formed relationships with psychotria extracts instead, that will likely be their baseline measurement for vaporized DMT.

I agree and feel that Mimosa is a kind of benchmark for most. When it comes to oral brews, I rarely hear how distinct dmt-bearing plants are. All of them have their own characters. Mimosa is sharp, clean, forceful, and tricky. Acacia is euphoric, cartoonish, a bit blurry, and more psychologically safe. Chacruna is a psychotherapist of sorts with clean, almost sharp energy. Chaliponga is wild and somatic. It is a generalization, and each of them has lots of nuances. Just as with different mushroom species, these plants are cocktails of different alkaloids. We can even say that each plant has its own unique spirit, if you like that description. Somehow, I feel that even extracted dmt keeps the energetic profile of a plant. Maybe that's just my shamanic outlook on them at play, though. Your own cosmology plays a big role here, the same way placebo is a functional medicine for people.
