Elevated heart pulse?

Hi everybody, i just tried DMT yesterday for the first time. In the 5-7 minutes of the flash, my heart rate was somehow elevated. Is that normal? I dont know if it was from the stress, the fact that i hold my breath while smoking or because of the DMT itself. It was not drastically elevated, nothing to fear really. But still, i wonder if someone experience this too I have felt the same thing with high dose of LSD, but with LSD it was more drastic. hehe oh yeah, that was with a relatively small dosage, i lost some of the substance because of my poor smoking technique. I need one of those glass freebase pipe.

A slight increase is normal. I don't know if that is a physiological effect from the drug or due to anxiety, but it's common.

hmm, maybe it's a little bit of both? Either way, i didnt even breakthrough of triped that hard. But i can see where it's heading to. It hits quick and hard. :shock: Even for the most seasoned high dosage mushroom user.

huh smoked for the third time and still got the elevated heart rate thing, not cool, it's like the anxiety from a mushroom come up but alot worse.

reply in case someone is asking itself the same question, I have found out that the heart rate can jump up to ~150 beat per minutes at the moment of the full dmt dosage flash/breakthgough ( that would be 50mg smoked ) . Same goes for blood pressure. It's well explained in Strassman - dmt the spirit molecule book. No worries if you're not an elder with pressure and/or heart problems.

I have smoked DMT a few times but I haven't got a breakthrough yet. All I experience is indeed an increased heart pulse and a very relaxed feeling. I don't see myself walking around when having that feeling, but I didn't really trip either.
