Has anyone actually had the experience of a difficult to separate emulsification?

My best friend always shakes the hell out of his STB extractions, for upwards of 3-4 minutes, before extracting the naptha. He's never once had a bad emulsion to work with...

There was one case where a tablespoon of very hot (400c) salt was added to the mimosa brew (he was working on a 1lb mimosa 2L solution) which separated the layers within minutes... But that was far from difficult.

Sure,

Anyone who had done more than a few STB or A/B extractions has come across hard emulsions.

Adding salt works great.
Tapping the container works well.
Strong vibrations from a massager or "other" vibration devices work extremely well
Heat works
Time is probably the best working method that I know of.

I Suppose so, but I've yet to see anything that didn't resolve it's self in under 2 hours really!

I'm just getting at the fact that the guides suggest you "roll" the jar around, rather than shake it. I find this seriously degrades yield... My friend gets most of the spice out in 2 pulls when he shakes it like a paint shaker.
