Kind of proven by the OP also because he said he took 2 hits and only recieved a body buzz.

Fry would you mind smoking some more of that 5x you have and letting us know where you go? Don't do it if you don't want to, but if you feel up to it smoke some more of that 5x and let us here know what happens (if you breakthrough etc etc) or if you just feel the body buzz like before.

My experiences are relevant to other people because they happened. I never said that your experiences didn't matter too, but i don't think you can legitimately compare your Homemade extract to a brand names extract. You are right that your experience beat mine tho cuz you made your own.

the first time I tried salvia about 10 years ago I had no idea what I had and second time smoking it broke through to some weird carnival wall in 2 bong rips.

I had just read a few reports of people saying that salvia and DMT are supposed to be great together but sub break through doses on salvia give me a nasty body buzz, borderline painful.

I want to try it but Im still quite apprehensive.

when I smoke it Ill toss a small pinch (approximately 50mg) and usually take a few hits, smoking it all hasn't caused a breakthrough but its quite close

the brand is " purple sticky salvia x20" which is not purple or sticky

the guy at the head shop knows whats up and despite the labeling he told me it was actually 5x, which seems accurate after smoking some.

I am surprised more people haven't tried this.
I can smoke raw blue lotus leaves sober and feel nothing, but they add a bit of something, salvia could possibly be amazing or horrendous.

I would try plain leaf 1:1 and see how it works for you, before combining it with extracts at all.

Exactly my advice as well. Less is more with Salvia, especially with repeated usage.

I am sorry but my Personal experiences are all the research that is needed. at the end of the day Screw buying salvia from brands anyways, just grow your own and extract it yourself if need be.

Personal experience is not research, just so you understand. But at least you see the merit in growing and extracting yourself. Most people who produce and sell Salvia extracts aren't too concerned with quality. They often leave a lot of undesirable crap in the final product. As long as it's potent, it will sell to the uninformed. Usually young people.

I told him to have a sitter, but cmon, there is NO WAY he is going to breakthrough on a 5x.

It may not happen to you, but it sure as hell happens to me, and others I've sitted for. The more you work with this plant, the more powerful the effects become. Now whatever causes this "reverse tolerance" I have no clue. But it is very real, and very permanent. You could not smoke Salvia for years and then do it again, without losing a step. Pick up right where you left off. I believe the brain "learns" how to trip with Salvia over time in some manner, and once "learned", never forgets.

To fry: you have the right idea. Small pinches and work your way up. You're also right about combinations with Salvia, among other herbs. DMT and harmalas added to Salvia creates a completely unique experience, unlike any of them separately. Be wise what you put in your changa mixes

IME, the bodyload is only uncomfortable like that with sub breakthrough doses. Once you breakthrough, usually you lose all sense of your body and it's much nicer.

Also, over my years of working with Salvia, I've lost much of that strange bodyload. Perhaps because my body utilizes the salvinorin so well at this point, I don't know. But after a time, I stopped feeling those strange pins and needles. Or perhaps I just became used to them, even fond of it, like an acquired taste I still sweat like a pig from it, but I've always been very intolerant of heat and perspire a lot.

It's all subjective. But don't let your apprehension stop you from exploring. Salvia is a very interesting plant with many interesting things to show you

I can totally relate Dioxippus! After a three year relationship with Salvia have also noticed a decrease in the pins and needles sensation. Whenever I do get the sensation tho I usually welcome it, quite contrary to my earlier journeys with the plant! ; )

The first time I ever tried Salvia it was 20x extract, and not surprisingly was able to breakthrough quite easily. To my surprise though, once I did try the lower extracts I was also able to experience breakthroughs with the same to slightly larger dosages...even with the 5x!

notice the (no excepted standard for these claims). It must be a difference from brand to brand because i have a 30x gram batch of salvia and i can take huge hits of it and only recieve slightly noticeable effects, not like the crazy spin cycles and journeys ive had on higher extracts.

All in all we all agree The best way to proceed with sally is to grow your own. Like everything homegrown is better.

that's reassuring that im not the only one with the pins and needles feeling, also I never would have thought that feeling went away, I almost want to start smoking small bits until Im comfortable then maybe grow my own salvia plant, there soo beautiful when in bloom but I always had a like/hate relationship with miss Salvia.

Hi Jellyfox. I think the confusion lies with these branded products in the way they make their extracts. I think there are 2 types, a basic one, and a standardised extract.

The main reason why people don't break thru on 5x is more to do with technique than 5x not being potent. Salvia needs to be burnt at high temp to vaporise the Salvinorin A, and held in for as long as possible. The good thing about 5x is it's quite possible to get off with Salvia on a good stead rather than scary trip.

^that is false. Salvia burns jus fine with a match. A torch lighter etc does not make any difference IMO based on years of experience with it. The high temp myth is just that..a myth. Early on that idea that it needs to be at high temps from a torch lighter etc was going around and now people always say that..but I have never found that to be true and neither have others I have spoken with about it.

You're right. I wasn't saying there was a need to use a torch lighter since a bic lighter is fine, what i was saying was that it needs to be decently burnt rather than lightly vaped, etc. Also the inhilations need to be big and held in. I think the main problem is that theres some people out there that think you smoke it like a cigarette, etc. Not so.
