Equipment for DMT extraction

Hi all,

I'm thinkinkg of getting a hot plate and a mixer, if that's the correct word.

The reasoning: - I'm not good at mixing, don't ask me why. I saw a vido on utbe that was taken off after a day:- the fella had a big jar with water and NPS, he vigorously shaker it, put it on the hot plate, created a vortex. Now of course he created the emulsion. THEN he lower the magnet toba vibration to separate the emulsion. So that's the reference for buying the hot plate...

I want to get the mixer, to purify the Rathin NPS DMT solution... My uneducated idea... Why? Because I know a person who works in a lab, she uses bark that I would not even consider and has great yeald in no time with bad bark, and clean...

Any ideas? Is this the way to go with theses two. What lab mashines would be ideal?

Hey buddy, SWIM is an absolute beginner, who just completed his first extraction. He got a lovely yellow spice that can easily be turned white, He used cybs tek as a reference and this guy's video as a guideline for visual help.

He shows how to completely turn white at the end of the second video, which can easily be found as a follow up for the first. Hope this helps, friend.

in my novice opinion a hotplate stirrer is a luxury. you can get a great yield easily by simply mixing by hand. emulsions usually work themselves out if you leave them for a while, vibrate the jar or worst case, basify. but if you stir like you would stir a soup (food) then you shouldn't run into problems anyway. maybe the problem is somewhere else in your tek? how many times are you stirring?
i typically stir for a couple of minutes then walk away for 10-15 minutes or so, return and repeat. i do that maybe 5-10 times and get good saturation that way.

unfortunately i don't have enough experience to offer advice on machines if you wanted to splash the money anyway, but i think most hotplate stirrers will do the job just fine.

There was a hotplate/stirrer recommended in some thread or other:

I believe what you want is called an "magnetic stirrer"


Amazon has them from $30 and up! No idea on which to recommend though.

Ive no experience with hotplate stirrers, but im thinking its kind of a trade off because the kind of vessel that is most ideal for an extraction isnt so compatible with the apparatus. Is that correct?

my first "lab equipment must haves" were a sep funnel, 1000ml. And a buchner setup. They were fun to play with for a minute, but the sep funnel was too big. Id rather have a smaller one mostly just for freebase/fumerate conversions. And the filter is just too much hastle.

If you were starting out again, knowing what you know now, what lab equipment would you get and why?

I forgot to mention the glass pipettes. Those are definitely a must have. Also glass or stainless funnels are quite helpful. Right now it seems like the availability of mhrb may become an issue before too long, and that will change alot of things its gonna take some of our more dedicated members to develop a tek that will render clean freebase dmt with relative simplicity. Right now, the perfect extraction vessel is something i keep a lookout for

A magnetic hotplate stirrer, Erlenmeyer flask, and a clamp are highly recommended. It lets you acidify, defat, basify thoroughly and safely, without having to shake hot acidic or highly alkaline solutions manually. Emulsions are reduced if the plant matter is filtered out (and then rinsed, for higher yields) first.
