Hi my DMT tribe,

Here is a tek I would like to do:

1. rue + ethyl acetate
2. + NaOH
3. wash in H20
4. no Manske

The reason to try to use ethyl acetate is that I don't think that harmalas are well soluble in 5% acetic acid and H2O. I came to this conclusion because If i don't squeeze Caapi vinegar brew, there is no harmalas.

The reason not to use Manske is that I am not pregnant woman, or woman. It seems that rue has a lots healing properties that I don't want to take out.

what do you guys and gals think?

this was inspiration:

the three methods of extraction involve both
the acidification of the alkaloids, followed by
the removal of impurities with organic
solvent, and basification of the solution
followed by the extraction of the alkaloids
with the organic solvent. The first extraction
involved the use of chloroform and sodium
hydroxide, the second ethyl acetate and
sodium bicarbonate, and the third ethyl
acetate and sodium hydroxide
. The
extraction method was based on a
previously developed method

ps. moderator if this is not place to post it, move it where sits better

Hi all,

I am ready to do my new extraction, that nobody did apparently:

1. rue + ethyl acetate
2. + NaOH
3. wash in H20
4. no Manske

this seems to be the reaction taking place:

CH3CO2C2H5 + NaOH → C2H5OH + CH3CO2Na

can anybody trouble shoot?

thanx
