extracting small amounts

I have a question regarding the extraction of small amounts of spice at a time. I have yet to experience dmt and would like to attempt the lazyman's extraction mainly because it seems to be the easiest to do. I have only a basic knowledge of chemistry and was wondering it it would be possible to scale the whole tek down by percentages. would that STB technique still yield if i were to say perform it on 50g of MHRB and then adjust everything to be 10% (i believe it calls for roughly 500g) of in the original tek. Would this be worthwile to attempt seeing as i only want/need a small amount of spice...

at least for now anyways.

Thanks for whatever help comes my way

SWIM started with 56g, and was very happy with the results. Would also suggest reading over Norman's tek as well, similar process so helps another perspective.

Thanks very much waiting upon responses i stumbled across q21q21's tek and it does seem to be probably the safest/easiest for your average person. another thing i like about it is the way all of the chemicals are given on a per gram basis.

Sure it's fine to scale it down. If you do the tek right and you have good MHRB then you should get close to a 1% yield, which would give you almost 500mg of freebase on 50g MHRB. The only thing I would add is that I would recommend q21q21's tek as it utilizes lime instead of the nasty lye. It works A/B or you can skip the vinegar and make it a STB.

Thanks for the endorsement.

but if you skip the vinegar it takes 2-3 days to get 80-90% of the spice. SWIM is going to add that to the notes in the tek now.

swims first extraction was nomans tek 17g mhrb, then i stepped up to 50g, then up to 250g. so yes small amounts can be done! 50g mhrb, 50lye, and 750 water worked well for me. i enjoyed the smaller amounts anyways, its so easy and you don't have to worry about having mass amounts around in case of any emergencies (whats the cop car doing in my driveway?)

it is nicer to do large amounts at a time though, although i'm curious how some of you deal with larger amounts, what kind of containers are you using? my largest container i feel i could only process 250g mhrb with about 3600ml of water/lye and 100ml of solvent in a glass gallon jug(numbers are approx there dont use them) whereas the 750ml with 50g mhrb was easy to do in a mason quart jar.

My friend bought a 5L preserving clasp jar for doing 300g MHRB at a time. It is perfect for it. I can't understand why most people would need to do more than this in one go. He did a couple of smaller attempts to learn the ropes first (50g MHRB). His only recommendation is don't try anything new when doing a bigger extraction. He tried a couple of new things (solvents, technique etc) and ended up with a lower yield and lower purity than on the smaller extractions. Learned from mistakes, but it is a bit frustrating when the outlay for materials is that big!
