Extraction questions?

Hello forum!

Very soon i will be performing my first extraction, and then on to my spiritual journeys with the spice

I had a few questions however.

I do not wish to have orange goop. I want to extract white crystals, and it seems like acaia confusa is either not pulling anything or its extracting this orange goop (NMT?) What root bark or plant should i use to extract? what have you guys been using?

If i were to use an extraction tek (The DMT handbook) that uses naptha and lye, would i be smoking any naptha or lye after i extract the dmt crystals?

What are the pros to using naptha and lye as opposed to a more natural and food safe tek?

Difference between A/B tek and STB tek?

Please read thoroughly the FAQ, since a lot of what you asked is answered there.

Specifically about `source material` and coming up with clean DMT.. I think in mid to long term, you should ask yourself what plants you can grow where you live or can find growing naturally, instead of depending on external sources. We have a lot of discussion on that.

Before, people would be using mimosa hostilis rootbark, since it has mostly DMT and very little of other alkaloids, but its stopped at customs in many places hence availability has reduced. Also there have been threads regarding how questionable the sustainability of the harvesting in some cases is. Im not sure how much better commercial acacia confusa harvesting is, to be honest.

Most of the decent DMT sources talked about here can yield good amounts of reasonably pure DMT, including acacia confusa. There are numerous ways to clean up things. Even in the case of acacia confusa and NMT, it seems NMT is less soluble in naphtha than DMT, so a few successive recrystallizations should tend to favor the DMT side. You can also end up looking into binary solvent mixtures, a work that still needs more tests in this case.

Lastly, as nen very correctly said, its not what your extract looks on the outside, its what it looks like on the inside that matters (check the FAQ on `is my spice ok to smoke`)

also, if you carefully follow the instructions of all of the nexus' approved teks, you will end up with a safe product.

however, i do not think there is any benefit to using caustic lye over the much safer, calcium hydroxide.

Ugh it's all so confusing. I don't feel right with the goo, because i want to make changa with white pure crystals, the goo just seems not right to me.

And i have no clue how long it would take to grow my own mimossa plant or acaia species plant (too long) so i have to rely on an external source, at least for now :?

I'm just so confused as to what plant to use, and then what tek to use, because i do not see the difference between a/b and stb teks.

Why? What's not right with the goo? Many, like me, prefer a full spectrum goo over fluffy white crystals...

Is there some reason you do not like it or is it some personal bias? Have you tried both?

I've tried neither, but pure crystals would be almost pure DMT smoking, and goop i would feel as though i'm not even smoking dmt, i would feel smoking some orange goo is extremely impure and unsafe to my body and mind.

Basing it on pure speculation. It only seems obvious that an orange goo would be impure as opposed to white crystals, but thats just speculation, because yellow or brown dmt crystals are impure.

I think you should do some more research before coming to baseless conclusions. As long as the brown is not left over mimosa/lye solution then it is perfectly smokable and contains a 'full spectrum' alkaloid mix. This is not a bad thing... this is just a combination of various other plant alkaloids.

In the future please do not make baseless speculations here. Saying something is unsafe for your body / mind when you have no idea what you are saying is not a good way continue. Much of this can be found in the FAQ link at the top of the page.

I will do more research, thanks. However mimosa isn't available, i cannot find any reliable vendors on google and im still unsure of what plant to use for extraction
