Extraction resulting in tar

Hi. A FOAF went the xylene way with some pedro and all she ended up with was a sticky tar. Anyone know where they might have gone wrong? Citric acid was apparently used. No way would that tar dry out to anything remotely resembling crystals. Thanks.

did u carry out ron's limo extraction, substituting limo with xylene? If you didnt use the HCl route, then its not supposed to crystals. Read ron's tek, and you'll see that the end product is a sticky waxy substance.
btw, since you used xylene and not limo, make sure you dissolve it in IPA, and evap it for a proper wash since you dont wanna be ingesting the xylene
edit* i'm not sure what effect substituting vinegar with citric acid would have, but if your product is not active, then i would speculate that this could have played a role in it.

it's because it's citric acid was used and is why cheap, easy to get, food grade citric acid isnt used. i think it is also heavier then the hcl salt, and because theres not a great deal of info on mescalin citrate, it will be hard to dose. then again, sometimes thats half the fun ya? hahaha

citric acid is actually not any safer/more dangerous then hlc acid when ingested in such small amounts. i mean, your stomach is full of hlc acid, and that is assuming you didnt clean your final product up. hlc salt is a whole lot easier to clean the exess hlc acid out of it seems, because from experience, acetone seems to disolve citric acid. that sucks...
