extraction revelation and yield question

hi guys, ive been doing a bunch of pulls lately with 2 stb'd jars, ~ 150grams bark each. And realized that my yields were after freeze pricipitation were very low, ~50mg-200mg even 1 or 2 that yielded nothing but some dark brown oil/goo, and now after a little expirimenting found the problem. I wasnt mixing enough before the pulls, i would only swirl for a few minutes, so i guess the naptha wasnt picking up the dmt.I was always afraid to really mix from fear of emulsions, but last night i decided screw it im gonna shake the bagesious out of one jar lol. After giving it a nice long cocktail shake and roll, i set the emulsified jar in a heat bath for 1 hour. the other jar no mixing/swirling just 1 hour hot bath before pull. after the hour i pulled a top dark brown layer that i figured if i get a bunch of dark orange dmt ill just recrystallize, and put half the pull in one container and other half in another, since i only had these small containers. Today opened the freezer and the biggest sparkling white dmt clusters ive ever seen were waiting , heres a pic below there sitting in a bed of dark sludge. The other jar i did not agitate at all, just put in heat bath just produced nothing but a bunch of oil and microscopic crystals prob too small to even scrape. I had another small container with nice big crystals from the shaked jar, but as i poured the naptha they got lost in the toxic sludge :x so i guess no choice but recrystalize those. So from now on i will and recommend to everyone shake shake shake! Now my question from the container below would it b safe to smoke those big crystals as is with just a little few traces of the sludge? or should i recrystallize? reason im a little concerned is naoh contamination from the mixing, or would that not b an issue? thnks

I wouldn’t smoke that personally, give it a re-x.

Don’t be so worried about emulsions – ways of settling them include:
• adding more NaOH
• adding salt
• warming the solution
• leaving the solution to settle for a few hours

thnks ill guess ill do a full recrcytalization of everything after done extracting , gonna have a wholee lot of goo to recrystalize as well. 1hour heat bath deff helps seperating the layers so im able to pull "clean" naptha, next batch in freezer looking forward to see what pops up tomorw,

emulsions are so amazing i love them . but persistant ones can be a pain but the answers are above. what ph do u run at cos foaf never gets that level of impurities in his pull thats pretty hideous looking picture make sure u seperate ur black from ur solvent well or maybe look up about what u just mixed into the black sludge that made it black sludge n whether u want to cake ur lungs in it ? whats the point in having to do pulls on pulls lol good luck though

o n sumtimes its worth leaving ur solvent to stand after seperating especially if theres lots cos the globules can get pretty small n if u leave it long enough u may notice what u didnt before
