Extraction Teks

Migrated topic.

I've been reading through the Nexus-DMT wiki and I see a bewildering number of extraction techniques.

As someone who's had a college course in chemistry, and who is safety conscious, which Teks are your favorites for mimosa hostilis bark powder?

If I may advise, Use the tek you feel most comfortable with and has the most detailed information. As a newbie first timer your gonna get stuck on very small things the more detail the less often you have to post and wait for a answer. Regardless of what tek you use read them all!!! every tek has something to offer and 90% of the questions from first timers can easily be answered from reading one of the basic teks.

For me panoramix works just fine, noman's and vovin's both do well too.

Alot of members are getting into the d-limo extraction aka BLAB. With any chem knowledge you should be able to pick one out that suits you.You just got to go with what feels good for you:)

Happy extractions!!

Noman's (an STB) was my first and quite successful tek. Later I tried Panoramix's (a modified STB) couple of times but had to do a mini A/B each time to get a reasonably clean spice.

I think, a simple A/B tek is foolproof enough to work for any first-time extractor. Besides it rarely requires subsequent spice cleaning. It is also less wasteful than an STB.

Try both and then decide for yourself.

Have fun!

A thing to remember. During your first extractions do not discard ANY byproducts regardless of how yucky and useless they may look. It could happen that your spice is in one of those byproducts.

If in doubt - ask here.

This tactic saved me tons of spice.

:d

Thanks for your input!

I've printed out most of the extraction teks and am going to read through them all.

Homework, sheesh. :p

 Reminds me of when I first did the Manske tek for harmaloids and my mescaline extraction. It's the best homework you could ever ask to have. :d

Fun innit?

Learning is the best way to find what suits you. SWIM just did his first A/B last night, and is getting okay yeild :) He usually does STB, but thought he might try it out. He also ordered limo to try some more things too :)

yaay!

One thing that confused me about Noman's tek is that there is no acid used in the beginning. It goes straight to lye in the first mixture. Isn't it necessary to do an acid extraction before basifying it?

It is two main groups of extraction teks - A/B (Acid/Base) and STB (Straight To Base). Noman's tek is a STB tek. An A/B will generally give better yields and/or better end product, but a STB is easier and less time consuming.

I remember reading EVERY DMT tek available at the time. I then asked a lot of experienced extractors what ratios they found worked best, as i found the ratios differed quite a lot when comparing teks. I made up my own tek to follow... works a treat every time :)

I have read through a bunch of the extraction teks here and elsewhere. I'm starting to understand the process a little better.

My monkey found MHRB, but he hasn't decided which chemicals/tek to work with.

I'm thiking STB is the way I want to go.

IMHO that's the right way to do it.
