Extreme Frustration with MHRB powder.

SWIM has tried the lazy man tekk twice and it didn't work either time. Unsure why it didn't work. Both times there was only residue in the glass pan, no crystal or flakes of any sort. Only ripples which SWIM is sure it's just naptha effects.

Should SWIM just give this tekk up? So far all signs point to yes.

The tek works, so you probably have either bad MHRB, or aren't performing all the steps right. If you give a more detailed description of your process-the type of solvent used, what did you use to basify, how much did you use etc, people may be able to help find whats going wrong.

This may not be the answer you're looking for and is probably something you could figure out for yourself, but I would give Marsofold's Tek a chance if you haven't already, instead of worrying over what went wrong. I succeeded with this tek my first attempt and had never extracted spice before. You WILL have success with Marsofold's, and once you do maybe revisit lazy man's.

Thanks all for the replies. After 7+ hours of evaporation with a fan, I am seeing crystals. SWIM did not like this tekk very much and will be doing marsofolds next!!

SWIM fully believes the powder is of shoddy quality. The company SWIM dealt with lied about sending the first time and did not supply a DC number for the second. Unsure if it's just a one time thing or they are a crap company in general. Won't be buying from them again for sure. SWIM will let you know how this trip goes

this happened to SWIM aswell but using the same MHRB and nomans tek (with freeze precipitate) yeilded nice results. What solvent did you use?

Only thing I could add to the good replys you've gotten so far would be to add more water/lye mix when working with powdered bark if you aren't already. I use normans tek and doubled the water/lye mix with powdered bark like directed and got good results.
