"FASW" Titration of DMT from toluene- is possible?

Hi guys,

what do you think... Is "FASW" titration possible with DMT from toluene pulls? Not ordinary FASW salting, just something similar to HCl titration of mescaline. Let's say adding some RO water with precise addition of FASW and proper mixing. The reason is to have immediate information about DMT content in current pull without subsequent evaporation and wash. And to save fumaric acid.

I think you mean benzoic acid solubility in xylene would be lower that the in toluene

Well spotted, cleared it up! How do the crystals hold up out of the solvent? Or did they disappear into juice already?

DMT benzoate is stable in air. I crashed it from limonene pulls.Dasein also got xtals from naphtha (but naphtha has less margin before excess benzoic acid saturates + it is less powerful pulling DMT).

Unfortunately DMT benzoate is not soluble in PG. Would have been a very easy way to get a very clean vapable product.

However, if acetone is added to toluene (similar to FASI but I'm a different order of ingredients to not have to prepare a separate solution cause I'm lazy), fumaric acid forms and that is soluble in PG. So one more ingredient but this could be a very convenient method. Working on it. Also revisiting ethyl acetate + fumaric after a good chemical dry.
