Favorite song/band to breakthrough to

Migrated topic.
I'm sort of addicted to this song for my changa trips, Ogive by William Orbit -

I played it the first time I broke through and I've only had a couple since then but I couldn't bring myself to try a different song. This song leads to such an utterly divine world, incredibly sensual and beautiful. When I go back with this song they welcome me with open arms. I think I'm going to try a new song for a changa trip today, because I'm sure the only reason this song has become so divine to me is precisely because I hose it for my first trip. But it is incredibly good. One of my favourites anyway.

I highly recommend changa breakthroughs to this song. It's incredibly euphoric and indescribably sensual

you know, when I started this thread I thought I knew what I wanted to listen to, but many of your suggestions have become new favorites of mine, I couldn't be happier I made this thread.

Kuba is amazingly mellow and beautiful

and the last post 'ethereal rain' is a very beautiful song!

again thank you all and keep em coming, I love new music.
still trying to listen to all the suggestions.

Yeah Kuba is incredible. Such beautiful music. This is an incredibly beautiful song

I just broke through to this
again on Changa. Wow. Just wow. I'm gonna say the most incredible unbelievable experiences of my life. The music was completely alive, a living breathing entity that gave birth to all of us. By us I mean... god it's just impossible to describe. Me and my friends. I knew them all. The most holy party I've ever been to. Because there are no drums it goes incredibly slowly, every moment of the music is utterly sacred.

And the funny thing is that, when I've smoked changa to this song before it's always been a very female experience. And I was wondering if I should play something a bit less lovely to get in touch with my masculine spirits. But lo and behold, they came out to play. An ancient male energy pulsating through everything. My female spirits always feel very mayan or amazonian, and these male ones were very african, which is interesting.

This came on right after the peak, and it an was absolutely beautiful thing to come back to. I spent the whole 9 minutes of it laughing the loudest laugh I ever laughed -

So I think I'm finally gonna breakthrough to a new song next time, that one 😁

Listen to some Ott. Daises and Rubies . Shower of Sparks . Joyful Wonder . I broke thru listening to A Nice Little Place .

"Dark Star" live from Fillmore West by Grateful Dead

It's perfect. I always wait til about 1:40 in before I light the GVG. Always an amazing experience.

Well, I tend to go for virtuoso stuff... or stuff that really emanates peace and goodness.

I like my psychedelic music to have a high level of skill and involve actual live interaction between musicians. No insult to electronic music, which I love and am a producer of... but there is nothing for flying quite like that wild cosmic telepathic improvisation that happens when truly great musicians jam.

I really can't pick a favorite, but off the top of my head, I would say something like this would do fine (it really takes off after 3 min or so):

Not many bands these days that can walk out onto a stage and shred like that from the get go.

Flying Lotus - Inside the Codex: the Art of Cosmogramma. If you haven't heard of him, well worth checking out.
Here he is getting some of the artwork done for the album along with Theo Jemison

Flying Lotus And The World Laughs With You

Enjoy :)

^^flying lotus is great saw him live a few times!

But for deep solo traveling I like the works of jonathan goldmantraveling music

Also really like random rab the spice
Random Rab has a lot of good music

Govinda electric gypsy
Also the album resonance by govinda is good

And I really like Entheogenics Gaia Sophia

I think some of you may dig the album art for these artists as well.

This is the music I've been listening to lately, hope you enjoy!

while I've yet to break through, I'd probably prefer minimal ambient, or silence, because i'd more than likely be hearing abstract head music anyway.

but jazz/fusion improv always blows my mind while sober, or on cannabis.

Guapo and Amun Duul II are two of my first picks here. Instrumental prog--no vocal, real instruments, talented players. I'm listening to the soft machine vid that HF posted....this is very close to the type of music that i'd blast off to, but generally prefer stuff just a bit more on the proggy side, a tiny bit less on the jammy side.

I feel you Doodazzle... benz

At the moment, hovering over an M hole, I am really digging the jam stuff though...

I don't normally listen to music while blasting off. I'll grab one of the talking drums I've made and try to play it every now and then. I've blasted off while listening to someone else playing a talking drum. I've only played the ones I've made and I've never been able to get a recording that captures the full range of sound they have in person. Very hypnotic sounding.

Once after drinking ayahuasca playing one of my talking drums on the porch a bunch of lizards and two large red skinks came out and stayed about two or three feet away from me staring at me playing music. Someone who was sober witnessed this so I know I wasn't just tripping.

When I have blasted off while listening to recorded music I think it was King Crimson Larks tongue and aspic album. And another evening I did it a couple times listening to bob marley ran through two phaser peddles on different setting. That sounded very interesting.

I only had one breakthrough and I listened to this:

came back on the 26th minute... I was GONE for a long time.
It's weird even though I thought I blew up and was crushed
and totally dead, I can still remember the music.

Like when I woke up in this room with 3 entities, they played
a game with me to shut my voice off that was going with the music, LOL.
But, it did not seem like music anymore or I just wasn't really paying attention
because of the overload.

think the new Boards of Canada would be great for a nice dose.

Sunshine likes Can with DMT and I would agree... if there
was ever a band perfect for any psychedelic it was
Can & Faust and maybe throw in some Tangerine Dream.

@voyaj . . . good choice. I've always wanted to meet the Aphex Twin. two years ago at Bloc festival Minehead, Mr. Richard D James actually fell into me. He was wandering around drunk as a skunk, he could hardly walk. Looked like he was enjoying himself so I just smiled and let him get on with it . . .

This song by shpongle is truly amazing to break through to! Instead of being a linear song once you blast off you hear the song as multi dimensional. This is not a hallucination but is really the structure of the song. You can hear echoes and parts from the beginning of the song, in the middle and the end. Basically all parts of the songs are there at all times, just very faint. and some of the effects/soundscapes he used really capture the dmt sound incredibly well!

Also (shameless self plug) my song first human is actually a really great track to smoke to! It was written about bridgesii cactus, but alot of the elements go very well with the dmt experience as well, the drone sound is very organic and there are some really great hidden tones and harmonics in there [YOUTUBE]

try it out and let me know what you think!

I had totally forgotten about Analord until the first time I did the spice. Listened to it again and became even more taken with it all over again. It sounds like hyperspace.

I remember putting on my headphones, one phone was not working. Loaded 40mg, hit play. Two hits was enough. Even though no music was coming through the other headphone... I wouldn't have known there was not sound coming out of the otherside :) The carrier wave that came in somewhere in the experience was like being close to a space launch of electronic proportions! Seemed like the loudest thing I ever heard... and I went splat splat splat!
