fireworks while "high"?

whilst smoking some DMT this evening i was quite "high" from it but did not experience a breakthrough outside my window i have a magnificent view of the fireworks display.

it was beautiful has anyone else experienced this. there was just so much definition in the colours and the sounds were shattering it was a truly enjoyable experience.

i may note that i was not igniting the fireworks whilst high it was a public display my house just happens to be right next to it

I do not mean to negate your experience or back you into a corner Spawn....but, this is one of those posts that really has no substance.

Maybe this could be better placed if you were to bring it up in the chatroom, but to form a thread about fireworks after having smoked DMT, it's a little disrespectful to the power and potential of the molecule itself. As an entheogen that should not be used as a recreational boredom breaker, that's just my take.

I can totally see your point and it made me feel abit ashamed of myself tbh (whilst reading it lol).

it was more of an attempted breakthrough/misfire. when I came home from uni I showered and meditated for about an hour before hand set the mood with some music etc and just didn't quite get there. I made my first batch of changa and was eager to try it so i was cautious with volume.

i didnt intentionally smoke it too watch the fire works....

just happened to kick off at the same time all my friend went out to watch the fireworks and go drinking which is why i thought it would be a prime time for me to try my changa..

but at a first read it does seem abit like hey guys get high on dmt and watch fireworks....

I don't see why this post is a problem. Colors and other aspects of a space are altered in sub-breakthrough experiences. It might make for interesting conversation to explore something as dynamic as a fireworks display.

But for the sake of maintaining the site's credibility, we're going to dismiss a potentially intriguing line of thought? I respectfully disagree with this conclusion.

Why it would be disrespectful to use DMT JUST for watching fireworks?

I know spawn said he/she was not using it just for watching fireworks - but if that had been the case, why would that be disrespectful?


I understand the whole idea of 'disrespecting the substance' - I don't want the simple knee-jerk response. I'm suggesting to look deeper into the notion of there being a certain way to use the molecule and anyone who uses it another way is 'doing something bad/wrong'.


A car can take you across the country. Is it disrespectful to only use it to go a couple miles to the store?


DMT is beyond respect/disrespect IMO.


Not trying to attack you HumbleTraveler - I just think there are ideas/notions worth dissecting to see what really lies at the root, and this is one of them.

I bet that was pretty neat! I think the sound of the explosions might be distracting if you were going for a heavy dose, but I bet the visual show on a lower dose would be amazing.

I didnt mean to judge by any means or put down your experience, wasnt my aim at all. It seems as though every one else who replied feels that way. I have seen some posts here, specifically in Id say the past 2 weeks, that really made me go....wait what :surprised ?

I originally took this entire post, specifically because of the word high in the description and first sentence as a "Yo man I bought this white powder from this dude who said its DMT and I smoked it and I sat back and watched fireworks its like better weed" That was my original interpretation. Again, specifically because of the fact that I dont think I have ever seen "high" used here at all before.

So, it wasnt my aim at all to pick on you for your experience at all and I dont want you to think Im some e-bully haha. That is not me at all, but with the gates to the nexus being open as they are, and because we now have a cannabis section, its a concern of mine that the overall quality of posts and people who are really truly looking to learn something is going to go downhill. It is not the case here though as it was just a misunderstanding.

Im just waiting for the influx of 14 year olds who wander on to here because they searched cannabis on google, and the nexus somehow popped up, and then they start going off about DMT showing you elf aliens thinking it's a recreational drug for some giggles and hyper-bright colors, when, as we all know, it's not that at all.

Eh? Why can't it be used as a recreational boredom breaker? This world can be viewed as a game. As Alan Watts puts it, a game of hide and seek with yourself. Why do people do anything at all in life? For fun. Why do you smoke dmt? Maybe because it enhances your life? Perhaps making it more fun? I can't answer these questions for you, but I can for myself. And personally as a human I enjoy fun activities. It seems you view dmt as some form of God particle that one must worship. I view it as I view life. A fun adventure.

Personally speaking, I'd be happy if more people used it recreationally as a fun tool instead of say weed. Perhaps then things would be looking up for our society. There's many more teachings in dmt than most recreational substances. Just because this stuff takes you to other world's doesn't mean it needs to be respected like some kind of vengeful god that's going to punish you with a bad "trip" if you misuse it. But that's the angle I see a lot of people take on this forum. Which is ridiculous. It's not a religion it's a tool to zap you out of day to day brain washing and wake you up to the truth of all this. That it's all one big game wanting to be played.

Personally speaking, I'd be happy if more people used it recreationally as a fun tool instead of say weed. Perhaps then things would be looking up for our society. Absolutely, it is very fun and anyone that knows the power of DMT should agree that this is no dobut a molecule which does deserve respect. Not only for what it can show us, but for the simple fact that showing it some respect is a valuable virtue for us as people to practice.

In the beginnings of my dmt use i viewed dmt as this sacred molecule that was to be respected at all times and used in a ceremony like setting. Not for fun, this is, serious business. After awhile i have learned that taking it too seriously was the wrong approach. Then over time i realized my view was not much different than a christian viewing the bible as sacred, so i have completely dropped this notion entirely.

Dmt is a tool, there are proper ways to use a tool and there are uses for a tool that it wasnt necessarily meant for in its design but work great.

Last weekend i rolled a joint of blue lotus and an unknown amount of dmt. After coming back from a party involving some alcohol my friend and i smoked the dmt joint. As we puffed on it we laughed, acted like children, and talked about how strange everything was. It was a very alien experience compared to all other dmt experiences as it felt more like a short uplifted version of mushrooms. I enjoyed it and have plans to experiment again. Am i wrong to do this?

No. Recreation is a useful tool in itself.
