First extraction issue

Hi I have done my first extraction using Mimosa Hostillis root bark using the lye and water technique I found on youtube. I used lighter fluid as naphtha as I live in the UK and that was more easy to acquire I used extra refined swan lighter fluid.

I could see the fluid was yellow so the extraction seemed to have worked, however after freezing the solution for around 8 hours I then drained it and there were no DMT crystal residue left over.

Please can someone suggest where I may have gone wrong.

I dont see anyone else helping you so I'll give it a try lol. Look up the ingredients in that lighter fluid. Usually you can find it on the internet. Try a different solvent and if that doesn't work try different bark. If none of that help's find a different extraction tek. I wouldn't use youtube to learn chemistry. I've only seen one good dmt extraction video on YouTube so I would probably use the nexus or shroomery next time. There's a good food safe extraction video on YouTube that doesn't require sodium hydroxide but the rest of those videos kind of suck.. good luck..

Did you test evap your solvent? Even with freeze precipitation you still have a small amount of solvent to evaporate.

Also, you could definitely leave the dish in the freezer for much longer. Try 12-24 hr. 24-48 hr even.
