First Post/Vaporization Method Question

Hello all!

This is my first of many posts on this site. I've just returned home from several months abroad, and am prepping to extract some DMT as soon as I acquire the funds. I have done abundant research on the subject (DMT: The Spirit Molecule, along with the contents of this site and many others) and am very excited for the experience.

Aside from all that, I have a question that I hoped someone may be able to answer. I planned on buying a glass Vapor Genie to smoke it from, but I was wondering if anyone had tried using a titanium 'nail' or 'skillet' attached to a bubbler or bong that are often used to vaporize cannabis concentrates. I'm not sure if it would work, but if it did I feel it could make for a potent method of ingestion.

I've never tried that. I'm not even sure what a "nail" or "skillet" really are in this case. What I do know, is that if you've got good technique, you can get pretty far with a bubbler or bong, but the GVG really works unimaginable wonders, and is much easier at not burning your DMT compared to the sandwich method of a bubbler or bong. Then again, I don't know what the nail and skillet are, so maybe this would solve that problem?

It somewhat sticks out that you'll be extracting DMT once you get some funds but you plan on buying a GVG for smoking it.

I've never used a VG or a GVG but I do highly recommend a "machine" or "machine-bubbler" even if only use before you acquire funds for a GVG. Personally I've never had a miss-fire with the machine and as for efficiency 10mg can produce 3+ experience and 35mg is usually enough for a breakthrough for my friends with some left over.

This is a video of someone using a nail to vaporize cannabis concentrate. It's a titanium nail that's heated to white-hot with a torch. A dome is then placed over it and the material to be vaporized is placed onto the titanium nail, which is then vaporized as it comes in contact with the incredibly hot nail.

This is an example of someone using a skillet. I think this would be the more possible option, if these methods are valid at all. Rather than a nail, this method uses a titanium plate or "skillet" that you heat with a torch. You then lower it and place the material to be smoked on top.

q21q21 - What sticks out about that? I'm getting some money soon, so I'll be able to invest in a pipe along with the materials to create it.

I suppose it is just my poor-person mind projecting. if I didn't have money for 60-100 bucks for DMT supplies then I would not have in my mind buying a 100 dollar GVG.

As for those devices, they might work but likely take a lot of technique and likely burn and denature the DMT if done like in the videos. DMT vaporizes best via convection (heated via air), not conduction (heated by solid).
The VG and GVG are mostly convection and I suppose the mesh from "the machine" would be a nice and efficient mixed of the two with the added property of being an efficient heatsink.

If you have any pipes or bongs you can even go as simple as just plopping the pre-burned mesh-ball (with DMT on it) in the bowl and you're good to go.

When you say "mesh-ball", are you referring to the little wire mesh ball that's been presoaked with DMT? How would I light it? I assume I'd just place it in a regular bowl, but should I use a torch or what?

The easiest way is to melt the crystal DMT by either sprinkling it or scraping it onto the copper mesh, the "machine ball", then gently fanning the flame over it to melt it or melting the DMT on a spoon then scraping the melted DMT onto the machine ball. 1st is a little more difficult but you'll get near 100%, second is easier but you'll get 90-95% though if the spoon is used again there won't be any waste.

Anyway once you have it on the machine ball it is right and ready to be smoked, just put it in a bowl like you would anything else. A regular lighter can work fine but the ball is so much of a heat-sink that DMT on the reverse-side may not vaporize with that, it can require flipping over for a second toke. Torch lighter is best.

Personally I have my DMT dissoved in vinegar @ 100mg/ml, ~5mg per drop and evaporate it in a little candle stand thing with a candle underneath then scrape it up, that's just me though.
