First Spice Doesn't Seem Right

I've had spice once before and got really nice effects from smoking it but no break through into hyperspace. The stuff which has just been made doesn't seem to give any effects at all but smells, looks and tastes similar. I've smoked 2x 50mg and just felt a few pins and needles after a big pull but not much else.

I've had 2 sessions, one was with a hash pipe and the other was with "the machine". What could have been made if I'm not getting any effects from it? Is it possible to get sodium hydroxide through the petroleum ether and I'm smoking that?

It was extracted from the acacia obtusifolia tree.

thats a really bad tek writeup. the guy is using zippo fluid...

can you tell us step by step what you did in your own words. also how much NaOH did you use? the pKa is important, you cant just bring the ph down.

I thought that was a good tek. I pretty much followed his steps exactly. The only part I was confused about was with the lye. He says to get 100ml of water and add as much lye as you can until it doesn't dissolve any more. I added 150grams and it was still dissolving. I then added that to the 400ml of liquid and added a bit more lye.

I'm gunna try the Lextek this time, which has the extra de-fatting step so hopefully that will give purer results.
